About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Litigation Associate to support both product liability litigation, including asbestos matters, and general/business litigation from the Philadelphia office. You will manage matters at different stages of litigation, contribute to case strategy, work directly with clients and opposing counsel, and take an active role in depositions, discovery, motion practice, and case development. The role is well suited to an attorney with at least four years of litigation experience who is ready to take greater ownership of cases from inception through resolution. You will also have the opportunity to learn from experienced practitioners while developing broader civil litigation and courtroom experience.

Responsibilities
  • Manage multiple product liability and general/business litigation matters simultaneously, balancing day-to-day execution with broader case strategy
  • Drive cases from inception through resolution, including discovery, motion practice, trial preparation, and post-trial or appellate matters where applicable
  • Take and defend depositions in high-volume product liability and other civil litigation matters
  • Draft clear, persuasive pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery materials, case summaries, and other substantive legal documents
  • Develop litigation strategies in partnership with senior attorneys while taking meaningful ownership of assigned matters
  • Communicate directly and professionally with clients, opposing counsel, witnesses, and other parties throughout the litigation process
  • Analyze case facts, evidence, and legal issues with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Coordinate effectively with legal support professionals and junior attorneys to keep matters moving efficiently and maintain strong client service
  • Meet professional, ethical, client-service, and billable-hour expectations while maintaining consistently high-quality legal work

Requirements

Must-Have:
  • Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school
  • Active Pennsylvania law license in good standing, with the ability to maintain all applicable CLE and renewal requirements
  • 4+ years of experience practicing as a licensed attorney in civil litigation
  • Experience handling high-volume litigation matters, preferably involving product liability
  • Demonstrated experience across multiple phases of civil litigation, including discovery and substantive motion practice
  • Strong legal drafting, written advocacy, oral advocacy, and analytical skills
  • Confidence working directly with clients and opposing counsel while independently managing competing matters and deadlines

Nice to Have:
  • Experience handling asbestos litigation or other complex product liability matters
  • Experience taking and defending depositions
  • Courtroom or trial experience
  • Experience with appeals or post-trial matters
  • Admission to practice in New York and/or New Jersey and prior law firm experience
