  • Participate in interdisciplinary coordination to resolve interface issues
  • Collaborate with clients and present design concepts in workshops

As a Lighting Designer - Rail & Transit, you will contribute to safer, smarter, more sustainable transportation infrastructure across Canada. This role empowers you to combine technical expertise with real-world impact as part of a collaborative and future-focused environment.

Your Impact
  • Design roadway lighting, rail tunnel lighting, and traffic signal systems aligned with applicable standards and project specifications
  • Perform photometric analysis, lighting calculations, and system circuit design
  • Conduct voltage drops calculations and prepares detailed wiring and connection diagrams
  • Develop high-quality contractual deliverables in strict accordance with CADD requirements and design directives
  • Review existing conditions, drawings and specifications to refine designs
  • Participate in interdisciplinary coordination sessions to resolve interface issues
  • Collaborate with clients, consultants, and stakeholders, presenting design concepts in workshops and meetings
  • Apply proactive, solution-driven thinking to design challenges and client engagement

  • Minimum of two years of relevant experience in lighting design or similar technical environments
  • Knowledge of roadway lighting, rail tunnel lighting, and traffic signal design requirements

  • Familiarity with PHM-125 traffic signal drawings and regional specifications (City of Toronto, Region of Peel, Toronto Hydro, Alectra)
  • Experience producing consistent and professional CADD drawings and managing revision control
  • Understanding of TTC/Metrolinx CADD standards and ESA/CSA codes and standards
  • Asset: Leadership experience or coordination roles within multidisciplinary teams


Compensation

AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $77 400 - $102 500
MB & ON: $70 600 - $97 200
NB, NL, NS, PEI & QC: $69 900 - $92 900
