Overview

The Life Support Maintenance Manager/ U/W Combat Dive Technologies System Manager Ensures seamless operation, conducts scheduled and unscheduled preventative and corrective maintenance, training, and advancement of combat diving systems and ROVs used by NSW entities. The SME will enhance operational readiness, ensure proper inventory management, and gather critical information to support current and future technologies.

Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Ensures seamless operation, conducts scheduled and unscheduled preventative and corrective maintenance, training, and advancement of combat diving systems and ROVs used by NSW entities. The SME will enhance operational readiness, ensure proper inventory management, and gather critical information to support current and future technologies.
  • Develop and write comprehensive curricula for end-user training on combat diving propulsion, navigation, communication systems, SHIELD SCBA, and ROVs.
  • Deliver training and certification programs to NSW personnel, ensuring operational proficiency.
  • Maintain training records and provide feedback and recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Perform routine and advanced maintenance on combat diving systems, ROVs, and ancillary equipment. Ensure equipment is properly maintained and issued to NSW and associated entities. Report all system deficiencies and alterations to department leadership and WARCOM program office promptly.
  • Manage government-approved programs for NSWG-2 LOGSUPPU and WARCOM related to combat diving systems. Ensure compliance with relevant policies and procedures for equipment and system operations.
  • Provide technical advice and support to engineers and WARCOM leadership regarding system functionality, maintenance procedures, testing, and evaluation of combat dive systems, ROVs, and ancillary equipment. Assist in the development of future technologies and provide input on system upgrades and modifications.
  • Maintain an accurate inventory of all combat diving systems, ROVs, and ancillary equipment. Verify accountability of equipment issued to NSW entities and ensure proper documentation.
  • Travel OCONUS and CONUS to train NSW personnel, attend operations, conferences, and meetings involving dive technologies and ROVs. Gather critical information on emerging technologies and provide insights to support NSW operations.
  • Maintenance, testing, and inventory records for all combat diving systems and ancillary equipment. Written reports on system deficiencies, alterations, and recommendations. Conference and meeting summaries detailing critical findings and recommendations for future technology integration.
  • All systems and equipment are maintained in operational condition and issued as required. Training programs are delivered effectively, ensuring end-user proficiency. Inventory is accurate, and all deficiencies are reported promptly. Technical advice provided to engineers and leadership is timely and actionable. Travel and conference participation results in actionable insights and recommendations.
  • Be familiar with the transport and storage of Lithium batteries and proper procedures for upkeep of all batteries associated with maintained systems. Adhering to Navy Ordnance Safety and Security Activity (NOSSA) transport, stowage, and operation.
  • Obtain factory-trained certifications for all underwater navigation, communication and propulsion systems maintained by NSWG2.


Requirements

  • Shall possess or be able to obtain a valid U.S. passport prior to onboarding.
  • Possess a valid state driver's license.
  • Navy Dive School certified (NEC 5342 / M1DV, USCG OPSDC, or higher).
  • Minimum Five years' experience as a certified 5342 / M1DV, USCG OPSDC diver or higher.
  • Qualification as a Maintenance & Material Management (3M) Maintenance Person, 3M Quality Assurance Craftsman, and 3M Work Center Supervisor.
  • Qualified in accordance with NAVEDTRA 43910-(Series).
  • Minimum of Three years NSW experience.
  • Maintain forklift license up to 6,000lb capacity.
  • Must meet the requirements to obtain and check out government vehicles / CESE for use in their official duties.
