Position SummaryThis role supports the design, implementation and operational readiness of life safety systems (LSS) across the Taylor facility with a focus in toxic gas monitoring systems and/or fire protection systems and code compliance. Responsibilities include coordinating with stakeholders on design, construction, and operations, as well as identifying risks, driving corrective actions, and maintaining reliability of LSS infrastructure.
Role and ResponsibilitiesHere's What You'll Be Responsible For:
- Develop and deliver engineered solutions for life safety systems, including toxic gas monitoring and/or fire protection systems and related protective systems.
- Interpret, apply and ensure compliance with applicable federal, state and local codes (AHJ, IFC, IBC, NFPA, etc.), industry standards and company requirements.
- Lead or support life safety design & operations efforts in coordination with project teams and subcontractors.
- Engage with internal stakeholders, external stakeholders and local code officials for reviews, approvals, audits, and inspections to ensure system acceptance and regulatory compliance.
- Support hazard identification, risk assessments and mitigation strategies for life safety system performance and risk reduction.
Skills and QualificationsHere's what you'll need:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Fire Protection, Electrical or related).
- 7-10 years of life safety or fire protection system experience preferred.
- Ability to interpret and apply regulatory requirements (federal/state/local codes).
- Strong analytical, organizational and written communication skills.
- Proven ability to lead design efforts, coordinate with stakeholders, and manage deadlines.
The current base salary range for this role is between $92,000 - $120,000.Individual base pay rates will depend on factors including duties, work location, education, skills, qualifications and experience. Total compensation for this position will include a competitive benefits package and may include participation in company incentive compensation programs, which are based on factors to include organizational and individual performance.
