The Opportunity:

Tetra Tech is adding an experienced Licensed Site Remediation Professional (LSRP) to our Environmental Remediation Practice in New Jersey. This position will support complex environmental remediation projects and guide cases through the New Jersey Site Remediation Program from Preliminary Assessment and Site Investigation through Remedial Investigation, Remedial Action planning and implementation, and regulatory case closure.

Position Summary:

Tetra Tech's environmental remediation business is expanding rapidly throughout New Jersey. Our projects are complex and highly technical and require experienced LSRPs to manage regulatory, technical, client, and project requirements effectively.

Our remediation services include complex sites involving dense and light non-aqueous phase liquids (DNAPL and LNAPL), comingled plumes, impacted groundwater in bedrock and tidally influenced settings, and impacted shallow freshwater and saline sediments. Our clients include public- and private-sector organizations, including Fortune 500 companies.

The LSRP will manage multidisciplinary environmental projects, may serve as LSRP of Record for multiple sites and clients, provide technical and regulatory leadership, mentor junior staff, and maintain strong client relationships. Project and Regulatory Management
• Serve as LSRP of Record for multiple cases, project sites, and clients.
• Guide projects through the New Jersey Site Remediation Program, including Preliminary Assessment, Site Investigation, Remedial Investigation, Remedial Action planning and implementation, and regulatory case closure.
• Prioritize project activities and regulatory submittals to ensure progress toward case closure in accordance with project schedules and NJDEP regulatory and mandatory timeframes.
• Manage workloads effectively to complete document reviews, project management activities, LSRP responsibilities, and other assigned tasks on schedule.
• Provides input and assessment of various cases in the SRP.
• Develop project schedules and remedial strategies in coordination with project managers when serving solely as the LSRP.
• Maintain project schedules and budgets when serving as both LSRP and project manager.
• Review technical information and documents generated by project teams, subcontractors, consultants representing other potentially responsible parties, and other entities as needed.
• Complete required LSRP certifications for Site Remediation Program documents, forms, and regulatory submittals.
• Perform all LSRP activities in accordance with applicable professional standards and the LSRP Code of Conduct.
Client and Project Management
• Periodically and as needed, communicate with clients regarding project goals, schedules, remedial strategies, budgets, and regulatory requirements.
• Participate in recurring project team and client communications on a weekly, monthly, or as-needed basis.
• Coordinate and participate in meetings with NJDEP.
• Respond to NJDEP comments in a timely manner after coordinating proposed responses with clients and project teams.
• Inform clients and project managers of relevant regulatory developments, including proposed or enacted changes to regulations, guidance documents, forms, and NJDEP review procedures or timeframes.
• Relay technical comments, regulatory concerns, and project questions to clients and other stakeholders as appropriate.
Technical Leadership and Field Support
• Manage multidisciplinary environmental remediation projects independently or as part of a broader project team.
• Assist field staff in addressing unexpected field conditions and provide real-time technical direction or connect field personnel with the appropriate subject matter experts.
• Coordinate project data management activities with project teams and database managers as needed.
• Manage field activities on an as-needed basis, including assigning work to staff and subcontractors in consultation with health and safety professionals.
• Provide field oversight when project conditions or assignments require it.
• Prepare subcontractor agreements, follow applicable client health and safety and operational policies, and help ensure subcontracted work is completed in accordance with project requirements.
Business Development and Practice Growth
• Maintain strong client connections and leverage those relationships to develop and support a portion of the candidate's project portfolio.
• Support growth of Tetra Tech's Environmental Remediation Practice throughout New Jersey and the Mid-Atlantic region.
• Prepare proposals, develop scopes of work, evaluate levels of effort, and estimate project costs.
• Assess client needs and recommend appropriate remediation strategies and technical services.
• Help identify opportunities to expand environmental remediation services with existing and prospective clients.
Team Development
• Mentor junior project team members and support development of their technical, project management, and regulatory capabilities.
• Collaborate effectively with technical specialists, project managers, field staff, subcontractors, and other members of multidisciplinary teams.
• Contribute to staff development, workload planning, and overall practice growth.

Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Geology, Hydrogeology, or a closely related field.
• Valid Licensed Site Remediation Professional (LSRP) license in the State of New Jersey.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience providing environmental remediation services.
• Broad knowledge of New Jersey site remediation regulations and guidance, including the Site Remediation Reform Act framework, Industrial Site Recovery Act (ISRA), Underground Storage Tank (UST) remediation requirements, and the New Jersey Spill Compensation and Control Act.
• Demonstrated ability to assess client needs, develop staff capabilities, provide recommendations, and help manage and grow environmental remediation services.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including fluency in English.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Windows, Word, and Excel.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for local and regional travel to project sites, Tetra Tech offices, and client offices as needed.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments, regulatory deadlines, client expectations, project schedules, and budgets concurrently.
• Willingness to work from a Tetra Tech office is preferred, although hybrid and remote work arrangements may be considered. Periodic reporting to an office, client location, or field site will be required.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Master's degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Geology, Hydrogeology, or a closely related field.
• Experience developing new business and managing client accounts.
• Experience with complex remediation involving LNAPL, DNAPL, bedrock groundwater, tidally influenced groundwater, freshwater sediments, or saline sediments.
• Awareness of environmental permitting requirements that may apply to remediation projects.
• Experience preparing partial or complete NJDEP Land Use permit applications.
• Experience conducting Phase I Environmental Site Assessments and Preliminary Assessments.
• Knowledge of remediation programs and projects overseen by the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYSDEC), Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (PADEP), and U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
• Experience with AutoCAD, RACER, Microsoft Access, HEC-RAS, EnviroInsite, ArcGIS, BIOCHLOR, ProUCL, or related environmental, engineering, GIS, or modeling software.

Physical Requirements:
• Regularly required to sit and work at a computer for extended periods, with occasional standing and walking in an office environment.
• Ability to travel locally and regionally to project sites, client offices, Tetra Tech offices, and regulatory meetings as needed.
• Field assignments may require walking over uneven terrain, access active remediation or industrial sites, and working outdoors.
• Must be able to use required personal protective equipment (PPE) when visiting project sites, which may include protective footwear, hard hats, safety glasses, high-visibility apparel, hearing protection, or respiratory protection depending on the assignment.
• Certain field assignments may require medical clearance or other health and safety qualifications.
• Occasional lifting or movement of typical field or office materials may be required.

• This position may be based in a Tetra Tech office, hybrid, or remote depending on business needs and candidate location, with the understanding that periodic office and field attendance will be required.
