Position Title: Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Occupational Health

Location: Assembly Drive, Rockford, IL 61109

Shift: 1st Shift

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The essential duties and responsibilities include the following but other duties may be assigned.

• Provide first aid care and nursing services within LPN scope of practice, established medical protocols, and company procedures.
• Conduct focused nursing assessments and contribute information to comprehensive employee health assessments as delegated by an RN, APRN, or authorized provider.
• Perform occupational health screening activities including vital signs, vision screening, audiometric testing, respirator fit testing, drug and alcohol testing support, and other medical surveillance functions as trained and authorized.
• Implement aspects of employee health care plans and occupational health programs as directed by the Occupational Health RN, APRN, physician, or authorized provider.
• Assist with the administration and coordination of medical surveillance programs, wellness initiatives, and regulatory compliance programs.
• Accurately maintain confidential employee medical records in compliance with HIPAA, company policies, and applicable regulations.
• Coordinate and track occupational health appointments, post-offer physicals, required medical examinations, and follow-up evaluations.
• Assist the Occupational Health RN and management team with documentation, follow-up activities, and communication related to workers' compensation claims, injury management, and return-to-work programs.
• Monitor employee status and communicate observations to the Occupational Health RN, healthcare provider, and management regarding return-to-work and accommodation processes.
• Participate in employee health education and counseling activities that promote workplace health, wellness, and injury prevention.
• Support emergency preparedness initiatives and provide first aid and emergency response assistance within training, certification, and scope-of-practice limitations.
• Maintain inventory, inspection, and readiness of medical supplies, equipment, AEDs, first aid kits, and emergency response materials.
• Assist with occupational injury and illness recordkeeping, OSHA reporting activities, and related documentation.
• Participate in incident investigations and injury trend reviews to support workplace health and safety initiatives.
• Communicate and collaborate effectively with Human Resources, Environmental Health & Safety, management, healthcare providers, and employees regarding occupational health matters.
• Maintain current nursing licensure, certifications, and required continuing education.
• This position may require travel to other PCI sites, extra hours and/or weekend work.
• Knowledge of and adherence to all PCI, cGMP, and GCP policies, procedures, rules.
• Attendance to work at a PCI site is an essential function of this position
• Performs other duties as assigned by Manager/Supervisor.

Scope of Practice Statement: All clinical activities shall be performed within the scope of practice established by the Illinois Nurse Practice Act, Illinois Administrative Code, applicable professional standards, organizational policies, and delegated authority from an RN, APRN, physician, or other authorized healthcare provider.

• Work is primarily performed at a desk and/or in an office environment. for 1/4 to 1/2 of the day.
• Work is performed in areas with moderate risk or discomfort that may require special safety precautions, such as wearing protective clothing or gear for up to 1/4 of the day.
• Work near moving mechanical parts for up to 1/4 of the day.

The noise level in the work environment is typically, moderate.

Required:

• Current Illinois Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in good standing.
• Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program.
• Current BLS/CPR certification.
• Minimum two (2) years of nursing experience.
• Ability to perform focused nursing assessments and implement nursing interventions within LPN scope of practice.
• Knowledge of OSHA requirements, occupational health principles, workplace injury management, and employee health services.
• Ability to maintain confidential medical information in compliance with HIPAA and company policies.
• Strong verbal, written, organizational, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and electronic health or medical record systems.
• Math Skills Required.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
• Ability to obtain and maintain site-specific certifications and training requirements.

Preferred:

• Occupational health, employee health, urgent care, emergency medicine, industrial, manufacturing, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or packaging industry experience.
• Experience supporting workers' compensation administration and return-to-work programs.
• Knowledge of OSHA recordkeeping requirements.
• Experience with medical surveillance, hearing conservation, respiratory protection, and wellness programs.
• DOT and non-DOT drug and alcohol collection certification.
• Experience working in FDA-regulated and cGMP environments.

For Illinois residents: the hiring rate for this position is $86,880.00 to $97,740.00 plus eligibility for an annual performance bonus. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including but not limited to specific and relevant experience, education, credentials, geography, and subject matter expertise.
