Full Job Description
Licensed Electrician

Shift: Afternoon shift

Hours: 11:00am to 9:30 pm; or until the end of production

Position Summary:

We are looking for a skilled and dependable Licensed Electrician to join our Maintenance team in a fast-paced poultry processing facility.

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical systems, equipment, and controls throughout the plant. This position is essential to supporting safe and reliable production operations, minimizing equipment downtime, and ensuring production equipment operates efficiently.

Key Accountabilities:
  • Troubleshoot, repair, maintain and install electrical systems, machinery, production equipment, and controls.
  • Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on electrical equipment and systems.
  • Diagnose electrical faults and respond to equipment breakdowns in a timely manner.
  • Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
  • Ensure all electrical work is completed in accordance with applicable electrical codes, legislation, and company standards.
  • Install, test, and maintain motors, sensors, control panels, PLC's, VFD's, lighting and other electrical components.
  • Assist with equipment upgrades, modifications, and new installations.
  • Collaborate with Production and Maintenance teams to minimize equipment downtime and maintenance production schedules.
  • Follow all company policies and procedures related to H&S, food safety, sanitation, and animal welfare.


Requirements:
  • Valid Ontario 309A Construction & Maintenance Electrician or 442A Industrial Electrician certificate of Qualification or equivalent provincial certification.
  • Previous experience in an industrial manufacturing or food-processing environment is considered and asset.
  • Experience troubleshooting industrial electrical systems, PLCs, VFDs, motors and control systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical documentation.
  • Strong understanding of electrical safety requirements and applicable codes.
  • Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Ability to work in wet, cold, and refrigeration processing areas and around industrial equipment.
  • Ability to safety perform the physical requirements of the position, including standing, walking, climbing, bending, and working in confined or elevated areas as required.


This is a full-time afternoon shift position with scheduled hours of 11:00am to 9:30pm, or until the end of production. The successful candidate must be flexible to work beyond scheduled hours when required to support production, respond to equipment breakdowns, or complete necessary maintenance activities.
