LCSW Psychotherapist for Rush Epilepsy - LCSW Lvl 1

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Licensed Clinical Social Worker to be part of our Psychotherapy Team in the Social Work and Community Health Department at Rush University Medical Center!

Job Summary:

This position in the Social Work and Community Health (SWaCH) Department will provide psychotherapy to patients referred to our clinic by Rush Epilepsy. To best support the mental health needs of this population, we are looking for candidates with a strong background in mental health treatment and experience with medically complex populations, including but not limited to those who are diagnosed with epilepsy, functional neurological disorders (FNDs), or any other related neurological conditions. While this experience is preferred, we encourage those who are interested in learning about the population to also apply.

This position will also have the opportunity to receive individual and group supervision while having access to continuing education opportunities throughout the hospital system. This position exemplifies the Rush mission, vision and values and acts in accordance with Rush policies and procedures.

• Knowledge of care management, community-based interventions, assessment, counseling and/or motivational interviewing.

Responsibilities:
• Provides patient-centered and trauma-informed psychotherapy services to adults and older adults engaged with the Rush Epilepsy clinic and addresses the specialized needs of this population, including adjusting to diagnosis and managing mood concerns as they relate to trauma, depression, anxiety, etc.
• Carries out comprehensive psychotherapy intake assessments (both in person and via teletherapy) to develop a plan of care for the client.
• Provides specialized treatment modality as part of Rush's Non-Epileptic Seizure Treatment (NEST) model and participate in scheduled meetings/clinic days with interdisciplinary team (in person).
• As part of NEST psychotherapy delivery, work with patients' caregivers/supports as appropriate, including family sessions as indicated.
• Participate in supporting research projects done by Rush Epilepsy clinic to enhance treatment outcomes for patients.
• Works collaboratively with psychotherapy patients and families to develop therapy goals and provide the necessary tools, skills, and resources to help achieve those goals.
• Maintains relationship with Rush Epilepsy providers through consistent and timely communication and participation in interdisciplinary meetings as scheduled.
• Completes all documentation and billing of patient sessions and other patient interactions in Epic software.
• Connects patients and their families to relevant resources, both at Rush and in the community, to address their needs.
• Promotes Rush University System for Health clinical services by referring clients to relevant Rush clinics.
• Leverages experience to support team members in training, crisis management, etc. as needed.
• Represents the department at meetings, conferences or other public engagements on an as-needed basis.
