Skills and Competencies
  • 5+ years of experience in credit analysis, risk assessment, or related financial services roles, with strong knowledge of project finance assets and/or municipal debt markets; knowledge of both is preferred
  • Strong quantitative aptitude with proven analytical and problem-solving skills applied to credit and risk assessment
  • Solid understanding of financial reporting for project, municipal or corporate entities, with experience reviewing and interpreting financial statements
  • Ability to exercise independent analytical judgment while ensuring credit quality, rating consistency, and robust analytical thinking across regions and sectors
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present complex analysis clearly and persuasively to internal and external audiences
  • Advanced IT competency, including strong proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, build strong professional relationships, and work effectively with minimal supervision
  • Basic understanding of artificial intelligence concepts, with curiosity and enthusiasm for learning how AI tools can be used to improve processes and drive efficiency. Interest in exploring AI systems and a willingness to develop awareness of responsible AI practices, including risk management and ethical use


Education
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, accounting, business, or a similar technical field is required

Responsibilities

This role serves as lead analyst responsible for delivering independent credit analysis, rating activities, and sector expertise across a portfolio of infrastructure and project finance credits.
  • Lead credit coverage for infrastructure and project finance issuers, including municipal infrastructure entities such as airports, public power systems, toll roads, and seaports, as well as project finance transactions
  • Conduct initial and ongoing in-depth fundamental credit analysis to support the assignment and maintenance of credit ratings
  • Ensure rating accuracy and analytical rigor for assigned credits through the consistent application of established methodologies and sound professional judgment
  • Prepare and present rating recommendations to rating committees and other internal analytical forums
  • Participate actively in rating committees across the sector, contributing to analytical discussions and promoting rating consistency across regions and sectors
  • Research, write, and publish high-quality analytical commentary on credit trends, rating opinions, and topical credit issues
  • Maintain and develop relationships with issuers, investors, bankers, and other market participants through regular interactions and market engagement
  • Lead meetings with senior management from issuing entities and respond to investor and intermediary inquiries regarding analytical views and sector developments
  • Represent the organization by presenting analysis and insights at industry conferences, investor events, and other external forums
  • Contribute to sector initiatives, research projects, and methodology-related work as a subject-matter expert
  • Actively leverage AI and digital tools to enhance analytical processes, productivity, and research output
  • Perform all duties with a high degree of independence, collaborating with the team leader and managing director as needed

The Project & Infrastructure Finance Group delivers high-quality, independent credit analysis across infrastructure and project finance sectors globally. The team evaluates complex credit risks, publishes insightful research, and engages actively with issuers, investors, bankers, and other market participants. Analysts are expected to exercise independent judgment, contribute to thought leadership, and support informed decision-making in global infrastructure finance markets.

For US-based roles only: the anticipated hiring base salary range for this position is $145,400.00-$210,800.00, depending on factors such as experience, education, level, skills, and location. This range is based on a full-time position. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for incentive compensation. Moody's also offers a competitive benefits package, including not but limited to medical, dental, vision, parental leave, paid time off, a 401(k) plan with employee and company contribution opportunities, life, disability, and accident insurance, a discounted employee stock purchase plan, and tuition reimbursement.
