With the overarching aim of supporting the Company's overall strategic goals, the Legal Operations team acts as a bridge between legal, the Company's business units, and outside counsel.

ABOUT THE JOB

We are looking for a Legal Operations Coordinator / Paralegal (non-lawyer position) to join our rapidly growing team in Washington DC. This is a paralegal-focused role providing critical contract and operational support to our business lines, Contracts team, and Legal Department. You will work independently on contracts-related tasks under the direction of a Contracts Manager or an Attorney, supporting the full contract lifecycle from proposal through close-out. In this fast-paced environment, you'll work through moderately complex or routine challenges, assisting with government contracts (FAR/DFARS), commercial agreements, and cross-functional deal support. This role requires strong contract drafting and review skills, attention to regulatory compliance, and the ability to partner effectively with Contracts Managers, program leadership, and business stakeholders. If you are scrappy, detail-oriented, and eager to support national security programs with a keen eye for detail, this role is for you.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Triage and provide frontline support for contract-related requests from business lines and internal stakeholders
  • Prepare and maintain records and documentation, such as contracts, agreements, engagement letters, etc.
  • Support Contracts Managers with contract review, acceptance, and compliance activities for government (CPFF, FFP, T&M, IDIQ) and commercial contracts, including pulling data reports and data entry
  • Draft, review and redline standard contracts, e.g., NDAs, teaming agreements, cooperative research and development agreements (CRADAs), commercial agreements, etc.
  • Prepare and maintain comprehensive contract documentation, including contract summaries, modifications, compliance records, and execution tracking
  • Coordinate contract execution workflows including signature routing, document finalization, and contract close-out support
  • Maintain CLM system records ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with document retention requirements
  • Support departmental stakeholders with recurring legal requests
  • Work cross-functionally with Business Lines, Supply Chain, Compliance and other departments
  • Facilitate and assist in various projects, large and small
  • Assist in the development of lightweight workflows to keep the company organized and efficient
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • At least 2 years of relevant experience
  • Bachelor's degree and/or paralegal certificate
  • Working knowledge of contracts and contract lifecycle management-you understand contract structures, key terms, signature blocks, compliance obligations, and why they matter operationally
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills and excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Experience with or willingness to learn productivity tools (e.g. AirTable, Slack, DocuSign, Jira)
  • Familiarity with or willingness to learn contract or matter management systems.
  • Solutions-oriented mindset with interest in streamlining processes and creating operational efficiencies
  • The ability to build strong relationships within the team and cross-functionally, including Contracts, Business Lines, Finance, Program Management, Supply Chain, Compliance, and more
  • Experience in supporting small and large-scale projects
  • Self-starter who is able to identify areas where they can assist;
  • Willing to wear multiple hats with shifting priorities and work on projects of all types, big and small
  • Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills
  • A positive, team player attitude, good judgment, and eagerness to help others
  • U.S. Person status required
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Passionate about national security and transforming the defense technology landscape
  • Experience at a startup, defense contractor, or in-house legal team at a high-growth technology company
  • Familiarity with U.S. Government contracting including FAR/DFARS requirements
  • Experience with government contract types (CPFF, FFP, T&M, IDIQ) or Other Transaction Agreements (OTAs)
  • Experience with notarizations and document authentication
