Starting Salary: $93,250
Salary Increases: Year 2 - $ 98,250 | Year 3 - $103,500
Work Location: Aurora, IL
This role is eligible to participate in ALDI's Legal Hybrid Work Program, which requires work in-office at least 2 days per month.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Must be able to perform duties with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Tracks legal spend, including oversight of e-billing system, invoice review for compliance with outside counsel guidelines, and identification of cost-saving opportunities.
• Develops, maintains, and reports on legal spend metrics, including budgets, forecasts, accruals, and variance analyses to support financial transparency and decision-making.
• Collaborates with Legal, Finance, and external partners to enhance spend governance, improve vendor performance, and drive process efficiencies related to budgeting and outside counsel management.
• Adopts and supports new tools and technology to optimize legal efficiency and ensure compliance.
• Develops metrics/dashboards and designed business intelligence systems to monitor performance against goals and targets.
• Assists with strategic cross-departmental and cross-functional projects to achieve key legal initiatives and departmental goals.
• Assists with various workstreams for department technology initiatives including contract management, book of knowledge management, corporate governance management and others.
• Supports programs that optimize sharing and collaboration across the department.
• Assists with document preparation and management for the legal department, including distilling technical data and information into dynamic presentations.
• Updates and maintains all legal file management.
• Develops and coordinates the rollout of periodic employee trainings on relevant legal topics/systems.
• Conducts research and analytical studies on a variety of programs and issues; formulates reports.
• Manages projects from their assignment through implementation.
• Collaborates with team members and communicates relevant information to leadership.
• Upholds the security and confidentiality of documents and data within area of responsibility.

Education and Experience:
• Bachelor's Degree required.
• A minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in Legal required.
• Extensive prior experience with Microsoft 365, project management, and matter management tools (Onit) preferred.
• Prior in-house Law experience preferred.
• Or, a combination of education and experience providing equivalent knowledge.
Physical Requirements:
• Work may be performed in an office, remote office, or a combination of both where a computer and office equipment may be used as needed to perform duties.
• Regularly required to sit, reach, grasp, stand and move from one area to another.
• Constantly and repeatedly use keyboard/mouse.
• Occasionally required to push, pull, bend, lift and move up to 25 lbs.
Travel:
• Minimal travel required as needed for job related duties such as training, project work and administrative tasks.
