Legal Counsel - Global Commerce (US, Remote)
What you'll be doing
4C4 Own core commercial work - Draft, review, negotiate, and simplify complex commercial and technology agreements in support of Pax8's agentic marketplace ecosystem of vendors, partners and customers.
639 Leverage AI as a force multiplier - Use AI-powered tools to accelerate contract workflows, enhance legal insights, and transform how the legal function operates
9E0 Build for scale - Contribute to programmatic, repeatable legal approaches that support a growing global marketplace and high-volume partner interactions
91D Collaborate deeply - Partner with commercial, product, and leadership teams to deliver practical, high-impact legal solutions

What you'll bring
539 Proven commercial legal excellence - Strong expertise in negotiating, drafting, and advising on complex commercial agreements, including key areas such as limitation of liability, indemnification, and risk allocation
539 Deep understanding of data and tech frameworks - Familiarity with data processing concepts, privacy considerations, and regulations such as GDPR, alongside broader cloud and software ecosystem knowledge
539 Commercial instincts and judgement - Confidence navigating "table stakes" legal issues such as privacy, security and commercial risk
539 AI curiosity and growth mindset - Excited to embrace AI tools, experiment with new technologies, and build capability in an evolving legal landscape

4B0 Salary and benefits
Qualified candidates can expect salary between $190K and $230K depending on experience
