What You'll Do and Who You Are As a Legal Assistant at Tyson & Mendes, you'll provide critical support to attorneys handling civil litigation and insurance defense cases. Responsibilities include drafting and e-filing legal documents, managing case calendars, coordinating hearings and trial preparation, and communicating with clients and courts-all while maintaining a high level of professionalism and confidentiality.

- File and E-file documents in State, Federal, and Appellate Courts
- Prepare Table of Contents and Table of Authorities for motions
- Schedule depositions, hearings, conference calls
- Docket case related deadlines
- Research using Westlaw
- Coordinate attorney travel arrangements
- Assist with trial preparation
- Assist attorneys with daily administrative tasks
- Assist with document management and file organization
Requirements- Minimum of 3+ years' experience as a litigation legal assistant
- Preferred insurance defense and/or personal injury experience
- Solid understanding of civil litigation (state, federal, and appellate calendar deadlines and rules)
- Experience with state, federal, and appellate court filings in California
- High proficiency in MS Suite, specifically Word, PowerPoint and Outlook and Adobe Acrobat
- Ability to think and act independently and with minimal supervision
- Handle sensitive and confidential information
- Manage a diverse workload and adapt quickly to changing priorities
- Work collaboratively within a team environment under tight deadlines
- Articulate, organized and a team player with excellent listening, verbal and written communication skills
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines

Compensation Package - The hourly pay range of $38-46/hour, depending on experience
- Overtime paid at 1.5× the regular hourly rate, as needed
