Full Job Description
The Learning and Development Manager CHEF’STORE supports efforts to build and scale a robust Learning and Development platform, which powers CHEF’STORE ability to unlock our talent potential. This role is critical to the continued success of our growing focus on employee development. This role is a key architect responsible for the design, implementation, and evaluation of programs that facilitate leadership, professional and functional development, and continuous learning of employees across the organization. This role oversees planning, designing, building, implementation, and delivery of training and development programs to support our field and corporate teams. This role is segmented as Hybrid. You will be onsite in Rosemont, IL or West Linn Or 3 days a week (Tuesday - Thursday) and Virtual Monday and Friday. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 3 Manage current programs and develop improvements keeping current with business needs. 3 Partner with leaders to define learning and development needs and key messages across stakeholders. 3 Design appropriate strategies to address the technical knowledge and skill building needs and determine the best delivery channel. 3 Design training materials and interventions to enable learners to apply what they have learned to establish or improve job performance. 3 Implement processes and standards required to ensure instructional design quality, technology, and overall learning effectiveness from storyboarding through implementation. 3 Conduct comprehensive needs assessments, determine education, learning and development priorities based on the needs associated with the business impact. 3 Partner with subject matter experts and business leaders to determine and implement highly effective learning solutions. 3 Apply design principles for single, blended and/or action learning training programs that provide employees with the essential tools for job growth and success. 3 Determine training plan to address performance gaps or opportunities for improved business results, considering cross-functional application. 3 Collaborate with functional experts to determine whether to buy, rent or build the learning solutions. 3 Work with cross-functional teams to solve performance and learning challenges. Apply a rapid design process starting with needs analysis to determine appropriate learning requirements, methodologies, and modality. Partner with external consultants as required in project management capacity to develop programs. 3 Identify ways to connect messages across the business landscape by reinforcing content provided to the learners in the context of the comprehensive list of business needs; leverage necessary roles and other materials where possible to streamline and minimize touch points to the learner. 3 Incorporate most effective teaching methods and taxonomy 6 types of exercises, role play, teach back, instruction method, etc. based on learning need. Develop and conduct train-the-trainer sessions so that others are able to deliver the content and material effectively and as designed. 3 Implement processes and standards required to ensure instructional design quality, technology, and overall learning effectiveness from storyboarding through implementation. 3 Develop measurement and accountability mechanisms that evaluate job readiness or performance, which enable continuous improvement. 3 Perform as subject matter expert for learning. Perform role of facilitator or lead instructor as built into any given program. 3 Other duties as assigned by manager. SUPERVISION: 3 May provide indirect leadership to cross-functional teams and influence without direct authority. RELATIONSHIPS 3 Internal: Regular interaction with all levels of associates within the CHEF27STORE. 3 External: Interact with consultants, vendors, and other third-party service providers as necessary for projects and ongoing business concerns. WORK ENVIRONMENT 3 Hybrid: This role is partially remote, and the associate is expected to perform assigned responsibilities from a combined home-based and office-based environment. 3 Frequent use of computers and other communication tools. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS 3 5+ years of progressive needs analysis, instructional design, material development, instruction, training implementation, measurement systems, and learning project management. 3 Well versed in Adult Learning principles and teaching methods. 3 Versed in appropriate organization of training materials (Blooms Taxonomy). 3 Proficient in various prescriptive instructional design methodologies (ADDIE, SAM, AGILE, etc.) 3 Implement learning measurement and demonstration mechanisms. Versed in learning evaluation models such as Kirkpatrick and alternatives. 3 Demonstrated ability to manage a variety of projects with varying levels of complexity to successful completion with minimal supervision. 3 Expertise/experience creating learning with most platforms: instructor led, eLearning a plus, Knowledge of Blended Learning, Webinar, Video, Job Aids/Electronic job aids. 3 Accomplished trainer and facilitator, strong speaker. 3 Strong influence, negotiation, creative problem solving and people management skills. 3 E-Learning software a plus, Camtasia or Captivate, screen capture tools. 3 Advance PowerPoint skills. 3 Ability to create and incorporate effective and attractive graphics. 3 Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to relate to people at all levels and a variety of working styles. 3 Excellent facilitation skills. 3 Candidate must have examples of materials he/she has designed and developed. 3 Travel up to 10%, including overnight. EDUCATION 3 Bachelor27s Degree requiredin Instructional Design, Training and Development or Workforce Education. CERTIFICATIONS/TRAINING 3 N/A LICENSES 3 N/A PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS 3 Master27s Degree 3 Project management or process improvement mechanisms are a significant plus. PHYSICAL QUALIFICATIONS 3 Must be able to perform the following physical activities for described length of time. Grade: 14 Compensation depends on relevant experience and/or education, specific skills, function, geographic location, and other factors as applicable by law (for example: state or local minimum wage thresholds). The expected base rate for this role is between $75,000 - $125,000
