Reports To: District Manager
Schedule: Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, with games running afternoons and evenings (approx. 2pm-11pm), and flexibility required as schedules may vary based on league operations.

ROLE OVERVIEW

The League Manager is the operational core of the Brodie Rec. League. You're the person captains rely on, the reason game nights run seamlessly, and the standard every league night is held to. You anticipate problems before they surface, hold every game night to a premium standard, and treat every gym like it reflects the Brodie brand.

This is a hands-on, varied role ideal for someone who enjoys being in the middle of live action, is deeply involved in league operations, and is looking to build a long-term career within a growing sports organization.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

Season Operations
  • Build and manage an airtight season schedule across all divisions, gyms, and time slots
  • Own team placement, division balancing, and captain onboarding from day one
  • Run game nights at a premium standard: the right refs, the right setup, zero chaos
  • Manage standings, stats, and weekly results with accuracy and speed
  • Execute playoffs and championship events that players talk about for years

Captain & Team Experience
  • Be the highest-quality point of contact captains have ever had in a rec league
  • Respond fast, follow through every time, and make captains feel like they matter
  • Anticipate problems before captains even notice them
  • Own the retention playbook: the experience should be so good, re-signing is a no-brainer

Facilities & Logistics
  • Hold gym partners to the same standard we hold ourselves
  • Book and manage court time so nothing is ever scrambled or last-minute
  • Show up to every game night like the venue is a reflection of the brand, because it is

Data & Reporting
  • Track registrations, capacity, and team health weekly
  • Spot issues early and act on them before they become problems
  • Keep leadership informed with clear, accurate updates

REQUIREMENTS

Must have:
  • 1+ years in operations, events, or a customer-facing role where quality was the standard
  • Reliable access to transportation sufficient to transport brand fixtures and equipment to the league venue
  • A track record of making people feel genuinely well taken care of
  • Availability for evenings and weekends, game nights are non-negotiable
  • Communication that is fast, clear, and professional every time
  • Genuine love for basketball and the culture around it

Nice to have:
  • Background in premium sports, hospitality, or client driven service environments
  • Network in the local basketball or rec sports community
  • You've played in or captained a competitive rec league
  • Experience managing vendors, facilities, or partner relationships
