POSITION SUMMARY
Serves as the enterprise authority on workforce strategy, workforce intelligence, organization design, and organizational effectiveness. Defines the research agenda, planning frameworks, and methodologies that translate business strategy into workforce insights, future-looking scenarios, and organizational recommendations. This role incorporates AI and automation trends to help leaders understand how work, skills, roles, and structures must evolve.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Enterprise Domain Leadership
Research, Insights & Methods
• Act as the enterprise authority for strategic workforce planning, workforce intelligence, and organizational effectiveness.
• Establish methods, frameworks, and standards for workforce planning, organization diagnostics, and workforce intelligence.
• Define the strategic research agenda and proactively identify future workforce risks, opportunities, and capability needs.
• Represent Workforce Intelligence as the senior subject matter expert for workforce strategy and organizational effectiveness.
• Lead research on workforce demand, talent supply, critical roles, capabilities, skills evolution, labor market trends, and future workforce needs.
• Conduct organizational effectiveness analyses including spans and layers, operating models, work design, capacity, productivity, and organizational health.
• Develop planning scenarios, forecasts, diagnostics, and recommendations that support strategic business objectives.
• Synthesize internal workforce data, external labor market intelligence, and business context into executive-ready insights.
AI-Enabled Research & Innovation
Strategic Advisory & Influence
• Research the workforce implications of AI, automation, and emerging technologies on roles, skills, capacity, work design, and organization structures.
• Develop scenarios that model future workforce needs across human, automated, and AI-augmented work.
• Identify work that may be augmented, automated, redesigned, or shifted as AI capabilities mature.
• Partner with data science, technology, and product teams to advance AI-enabled workforce intelligence, forecasting, and decision support while applying responsible AI standards.
• Partner with HR leaders, COEs, HRBPs, strategy teams, and business leaders to inform workforce and organization decisions.
• Deliver executive-ready recommendations on workforce investments, organization design, transformation, and future capability requirements.
• Influence enterprise workforce and organization decisions through evidence-based recommendations and thought leadership.
• Operate with significant autonomy and shape decisions through expertise and influence rather than formal people leadership.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Industrial-Organizational Psychology, Organizational Development, Human Resources, Analytics, or related field.
• 8+ years of experience in strategic workforce planning, workforce intelligence, organizational effectiveness, consulting, Workforce Intelligence, or related work.
• Strong understanding of workforce planning methods, organization design principles, labor market dynamics, and AI-driven workforce transformation.
• Ability to advise senior leaders and translate complex workforce challenges into actionable recommendations.
SCOPE & IMPACT
• Leads enterprise-wide workforce and organization research with significant strategic impact.
• Defines planning frameworks, methodologies, AI-enabled use cases, and enterprise points of view.
• Influences workforce, talent, and organization decisions across multiple business units.
• Establishes reusable standards adopted across Workforce Intelligence and HR.

The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations. $122,100 - $162,800
