Full Job Description
Role Summary

We are seeking a versatile individual to join our Creative Studio team as a Lead Video Editor. The focus of this role is to craft compelling, high-impact Rivian brand content. This includes cinematic campaign editorial as well as sleek, fast-paced social executions. This dual-discipline role requires a strong blend of narrative storytelling, technical precision, and modern post-production expertise.

The position involves day-to-day collaboration across Production, Integrated Marketing, Organic Social, and Performance teams. You will manage your own edits while supporting lead editors and creative directors on larger product launches and multi-channel campaigns. You will contribute directly to Rivian's success by creating best-in-class, performance-optimized video across owned, earned, and paid channels.

You are a natural visual storyteller who thrives in a fast-paced creative environment. You understand how to tailor pacing, rhythm, and tone for different platforms and audiences. You know how to balance high aesthetic standards with strategic business goals.

Responsibilities

  • Editorial and Narrative: Weave compelling narratives from raw camera footage (such as RED, ARRI, or Sony Log) that align with marketing strategies, product launches, and brand campaigns.
  • Audio and Sound Design: Expertly assemble dialogue, cut music from provided libraries, and craft sound design and audio mixes to elevate visual storytelling.
  • Motion Graphics and Branding: Design and animate brand-accurate video assets, kinetic typography, lower-thirds, and graphics templates in Premiere Pro or After Effects.
  • Social and Performance Optimization: Translate campaign briefs into video deliverables tailored to platform-specific aspect ratios across widescreen, vertical, and square formats. Partner with Social and Performance Marketing to test hooks, edit quick-turn iterations, and optimize assets for maximum engagement on social channels.
  • Editorial Support and Prepping: Support lead editors on high-tier campaigns by prepping project files, creating proxies, building selects sequences, color balancing, and managing complex versioning tasks.
  • Media Management and Pipeline: Organize footage and maintain strict media management protocols within our digital asset ecosystem. Adhere to file-naming conventions, folder structures, and remote desktop / central server workflows. Stay current on short-form editing trends, audio trends, and modern visual culture.

Qualifications

  • Experience: 5+ years of professional video editing experience, with at least 2+ years dedicated to agency, in-house, or commercial brand content.
  • Portfolio: Portfolio demonstrating storytelling across a variety of channels, with strong examples of brand video work.
  • NLE Expertise: Advanced proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro. Fluency in Adobe Creative Suite is required, and experience with DaVinci Resolve is a plus. Deep understanding of proxy workflows, color management, and high-bitrate media formats.
  • Motion Graphics Skills: Ability to concept, design, and animate video assets, lower-thirds, title cards, and text animation directly in Premiere Pro or After Effects.
  • Technical Workflow: Experience working in shared storage and remote editing environments, such as Remote Desktop connections to centralized SAN/NAS server infrastructure.
  • Social Literacy: In-depth knowledge of platform specs, safe zones, hook-driven editing strategies, vertical aspect ratios, and trending audio dynamics across social channels.
  • Soft Skills: Exceptional communication and presentation skills for internal creative reviews. Strong attention to detail, ability to handle competing deadlines, adapt quickly to changing creative direction, and actively incorporate feedback.
