What The Role Is

This position reports to the Plant Manager and has primary responsibility for the VP/Arica assets located in Desert Center, CA.
What You'll Be Doing
  • Monitor and enforce safe work practices as they relate to PV Solar plants and PV Solar BOP repairs and maintenance.
  • Primary responsibility: responsible to maintain sites availability at the highest state of operability, meeting contractual obligations, and budget
  • Manages the plant maintenance program based on best practices in the PV industry, with an emphasis on safety, planning/scheduling, and preventive/predictive maintenance.
  • Monitor and report on manufacture and third-party maintenance and repair efforts
  • Supervise/conduct/assist in trouble shooting and repairs of electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Monitors and manages the use and inventories of spare parts, maintenance supplies, equipment, tools, and reordering as necessary.
  • Inspect completed repairs and scheduled maintenance for quality assurance.
  • Maintain logs and records as required to record complete operating conditions for the facility and report and irregularities.
  • Ensures work is performed in accordance with Environmental and Safety requirements.
  • Communicates regularly with Management and all site personnel, both individually and as a group, to ensure excellent two-way communication concerning operational and maintenance issues.
  • Participate in contract negotiations with sub-contractors and other vendors for parts and services required.
  • Responsible for manuals, updates, and work instructions for site personnel and PV systems
  • Work with team members to establish goals, action plans and strategies.
  • Develop standard work procedures.
  • Work overtime and non-standard working hours - (nights) as required
What You'll Bring
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • 3 years of experience in the operation of Commercial Solar plants or 5 years of equivalent experience in instrumentation & controls, MV/HV Electrical work.
  • Qualified to perform all routine and emergency operations at an electric generation facility and HV Switchyard.
  • Experience working with plant systems and computerized maintenance management systems. (SAP).
  • Knowledge of complex analog and digital instrumentation and control systems; proper methods for troubleshooting, repairing, and adjusting instruments and control systems; proper and safe methods to clear equipment; safe use of tools; plant safety rules; reporting procedures and practices, maintenance procedures and practices; electrical and mechanical prints, and PV Solar plant terminology and nomenclature.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain PV solar sites at high availability.
  • Proficiency in using MS Office software to include spread sheet and document applications.
  • Understanding of general workplace safety and the ability to follow safety standards as well as help the company improve upon the standards in place.

What Would Be Nice
  • Technical School Diploma preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Journeyman electrician preferred

The pay rate for the successful candidate will depend on geographic location, skills, relevant and demonstrated experience, education, training and certifications, and other factors permitted by law. This role is eligible to earn an annual cash bonus, subject to personal and company performance goals.

Salary Range Across all U.S. Locations

$100,000-$115,000 USD
