Cedar Hill Regional Medical Center GW Health opened its doors this April as the first new full-service hospital in Washington, DC in more than 25 years! Integrating clinical care with existing community providers, Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHC's), The George Washington University Hospital, and our Urgent Care Center in Ward 8, this enhanced integrated delivery system will establish a robust network of care for all District residents, but more importantly, it will ensure residents of Wards 7 and 8 have access to high quality care in their community. Our advanced hospital will offer 136 beds (with the ability to expand to 184 beds), a verified trauma center, adult and pediatric emergency departments, maternal health and newborn delivery, an ambulatory pavilion for clinic visits and other outpatient services, onsite 550-car parking garage, and a helipad for emergency transport.

We are seeking an Lead Ultrasound Technologist (Full-Time)

Our ideal candidate will work as the Ultrasound Lead Technologist, reporting to the designated leader within the Imaging Department. As a Lead Technologist, you will administer sound patient care practices according to department and hospital policies/procedures. To help achieve our mission, you will complete ancillary tasks to ensure efficient and consistent departmental operations. The Technologists performs clinical diagnostic images. In addition, the Technologist will assist with orienting staff and training students. Also, assist with obtaining all accreditation certificates, and departmental goals and metrics set.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • High School Graduate or equivalent.
  • Diploma from a certified school of radiologic technology.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR Certification through the American Heart Association.
  • Active American Registry of Radiology Technologists (ARRT)(ARDMS) license.
  • Certification in General, Vascular and OBGYN preferred.
  • Minimum one-year of previous leadership experience as a registered Sonographer required, acute care experience preferred.

Skills:
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, regulatory or accreditation requirements Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Basic to Intermediate Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Ability to calculate figures and percentages.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Demonstrates knowledge and ensures compliance with all regulatory bodies, e.g. The Joint Commission and American College of Radiology (ACR) and Title 22 standards and guidelines.
  • Demonstrates compliance with hospital policies and procedures at all times.
  • Demonstrates strong leadership, organization, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrates ability to relate to clinical personnel and medical staff, as well as ability to interact well with the public.
  • Must have knowledge of PC and applications.
