Project Overview:

Port Arthur LNG, LLC (PALNG) is developing a Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) production and export facility on a site located on the western shoreline of the Port Arthur Canal in Jefferson County, Texas. The project base scope will include two (2) identical LNG trains, two (2) LNG Storage Tanks, one (1) LNG Carrier Berth, and associated utilities/facilities. The Project is to be constructed on a parcel of land located at State Highway 87 south of Port Arthur, Texas, between the inner coastal waterway bridge and Keith Lake.

Job Summary:

The role is based on the Port Arthur Liquefaction Project site (7 miles south of Port Arthur, Texas), and works a 48-hour extended work week. The successful candidate will be willing and able to work a reasonable amount of overtime and if required night shift, as needed to support safe project execution. The Energy Lead Survey Engineer provides support as required to the construction team reporting directly to the Project Field Engineer. Supervises and/or directs all surveying activities relating to construction engineering, layout of foundation locations, equipment locations, structural steel placement, subcontracts, and engineering liaison with the design functional group. Use design drawings, model, and specifications to determine associated commodities locations. Works with field engineering to support field verification of materials as appropriate and needed. Provides technical support as related to survey to Field Engineering and Superintendents in a wide range of situation and configurations. Multi-Disciplined Field Engineering responsibilities with earthwork, excavation, concrete, structural steel, marine works, etc. installation activities. #LI-BH1

Major Responsibilities:

The Energy Lead Survey Engineer's duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Leads all project related surveying activities; communicates and coordinates often with survey functional management
• Responsible for the survey team's implementation of the project safety, quality, and environmental programs
• Advise construction management team regarding modem innovative technical solutions.
• Provide Construction Survey support to both Field Engineering and Field Supervision
• Oversee establishment and/or verification and maintenance of the project's survey control network.
• Oversee the supervision of direct hire and/or sub-contracted survey crews, including verification of survey crews' control points and work
• Responsible for the oversight of accurate layout of construction work, recordation of field data according to job specifications and appropriate methods of performing survey activities.
• Oversee the development and management of survey data.
• Oversee the administration of the survey work request program.
• Supervise and/or perform Calibration Baseline checks of survey instruments.
• Oversee and/or perform checks of survey computations as required.
• Oversee and/or perform survey control network least squares adjustment computations.
• Oversee the utilization of survey instruments in conformance with Bechtel survey procedures.
• Oversee and/or provide Civil project completion documentation including "As Built" records.
• Oversee and/or prepare survey CAD drawings as required in the performance of duties, including generation of Digital Terrain Models (DTM) and volumes computations.
• Responsible for the creation and implementation of the survey training program
• Oversee and support the implementation of project's Machine Control operations.
• Oversee and support the implementation of the UAV (Drones) program.
• Oversee and support the implementation of Dimensional Control survey operations, including field and office.
• Oversee and support the implementation of the 3D Laser Scanning operations, including field and office.
• Oversee and support the implementation of the Metrology Surveys operations, including field and office.
• Mentor junior survey team members and support the Corporate Survey Manager with their Bechtel career paths and growth.

Education and Experience Requirements:

• Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 10-13 years of relevant experience or 14-17 years of relevant work experience

Required Knowledge and Skills:

• Knowledge of engineering and construction methods and processes customarily acquired over time through specialized instruction or practical experience
• Knowledge of Bechtel's "Zero Incidents" safety program. Must have a strong drive toward Safety, both on and off the job, a commitment to seeing everyone go home each day as well and healthy as they came to work that day.
• Knowledge of Bechtel quality standards. Must have a solid record of successful project completion with little to zero rework.
• Knowledge of construction survey principles
• Knowledge of supervisory functions relating to heavy construction/industrial surveying field & office activities
• Working knowledge of Bechtel construction procedures
• Displays effective communications skills crucial to motivating team members and presenting plans in a clear and concise manner.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a team-based environment, able to formulate a working relationship with survey team members, other departments, contractors, and survey functional management.
• Demonstrated proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.
• Excellent problem-solving ability
• Demonstrated proficiency with Survey CAD software, including generation of Digital Terrain Models (DTM) and volumes computations.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior Energy GBU experience
• Prior Bechtel mega-project experience
• FAA Part 107 - UAS Remote Pilot Certificate.
• Experience flying and supporting UAV / Drones operations.
• Experience with Leica and Trimble survey instruments and software.
• Knowledge of supervisory functions relating to heavy equipment machine control activities
• Knowledge of supervisory functions relating to laser scanning field & office activities
• Knowledge of supervisory functions relating to metrology field & office activities
• Experience supervising Bechtel Craft is desirable.
• General awareness of environmental laws
• Awareness of government compliance standards
