Project Overview:

Bechtel's Manufacturing and Technology (M&T) is an exciting and growing business unit serving the semiconductor, electric vehicle, and datacenter markets, striving to exceed customer objectives through agility, innovative technologies, and world-class talent while solving the industry's toughest challenges for the future. Bechtel is supporting the construction of a semiconductor fabrication facility in Clay, New York, delivering a large, complex, fast-paced project footprint to safely enable advanced manufacturing capacity.

Job Summary:

In this role, you will lead concrete field engineering for an assigned area, supporting safe and efficient execution of concrete production, placement, testing, and turnover activities. You will supervise assigned field engineers, coordinate work planning and technical support, and partner with construction, engineering, quality, procurement, project controls, startup, subcontractors, suppliers, and client representatives to ensure concrete work meets project safety, quality, schedule, and cost objectives.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Supervise assigned concrete field engineering personnel, set priorities, coordinate daily work, and provide coaching, technical guidance, and performance feedback.
  • Coordinate with the Concrete Manager, superintendents, and project functions to support concrete execution plans, construction schedules, placement plans, and installation work packages.
  • Lead field engineering support for constructability reviews, RFIs, field changes, engineering deliverables, construction drawings, sketches, as-built records, and placement documentation.
  • Manage concrete quantity takeoff, reporting, forecasting, installed quantity validation, productivity analysis, and progress data used for planning and cost control.
  • Support material readiness, including requisitions, receiving, preservation, warehousing, material substitutions, and release of concrete-related materials to craft professionals.
  • Coordinate technical support for batch plant interface, mix requirements, placement sequencing, equipment planning, curing, temperature control, cold weather concreting, testing, and protection of completed work.
  • Ensure concrete work is planned, documented, inspected, and executed in accordance with drawings, specifications, codes, project procedures, inspection and test plans, and acceptance requirements.
  • Coordinate subcontractor, supplier, quality, and startup interfaces; support punch list, turnover, change documentation, and safe work planning for assigned concrete scopes.


Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Experience supervising field engineering or construction engineering personnel, including work prioritization, coordination, coaching, and performance feedback.
  • Strong knowledge of concrete production, placement, finishing, curing, testing, protection, reinforcement, embeds, formwork, batch plant interfaces, and cold weather concreting.
  • Experience supporting construction schedules, installation work packages, placement plans, drawings, sketches, temporary works, as-built records, and workface readiness.
  • Ability to manage quantity takeoff, reporting, forecasting, productivity analysis, unit-rate reviews, manpower planning, and progress data using project automation tools.
  • Ability to interpret engineering documents, specifications, models, vendor data, codes, inspection and test plans, acceptance criteria, and nonconformance requirements.
  • Strong coordination skills with construction management, superintendents, engineering, procurement, quality, startup, subcontractors, suppliers, and client representatives.
