About the role
The Lead Specialist, Procurement Process Excellence, Governance & Sustainability will support the development, documentation, governance, and continuous improvement of procurement processes and operational procedures across the Global Sourcing & Procurement Services (GSPS) organization. Reporting to the Director of Process & Policy, this role is responsible for driving process standardization and documentation, supporting process improvement initiatives, and ensuring operational consistency across procurement activities.
The role will also support sustainability reporting and compliance activities, including procurement-related greenhouse gas (GHG) data collection, reporting, and documentation, as well as business continuity and operational resilience initiatives. This includes coordinating business continuity planning activities, maintaining related documentation, and supporting continuity testing and emergency preparedness efforts.
The position requires strong collaboration across GSPS, Sustainability, Accounts Payable, Financial Controls, and Enterprise Resiliency teams to ensure accurate process documentation and standardization, data integrity, regulatory compliance, operational resilience, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
Process Analysis, Documentation & Governance
- Support the Director of Process and Policy and broader leadership team with strategic input on process governance, operational strategy, and long-term process improvement roadmap development.
- Analyze existing processes to identify standardization, automation, control enhancement, and continuous improvement opportunities.
- Support deployment of process improvement initiatives that enhance efficiency, compliance, and operational effectiveness.
- Develop and maintain procurement process documentation, procedures, process maps, and operational guidance.
- Establish governance for process documentation, ensuring timely updates, version control, and ongoing maintenance of process assets.
- Assist with internal audits, identify process risks, and support remediation and corrective action efforts.
Sustainability Reporting & Compliance
- Support sustainability reporting and compliance requirements, including procurement-related greenhouse gas (GHG) data collection and management.
- Assist with sustainability assurance requirements, reporting requests, and related documentation.
- Support improvements to sustainability reporting processes, controls, and data management.
- Calculate, monitor, and report supplier sustainability performance metrics and provide insights that support sustainable procurement objectives.
Business Continuity & Operational Resilience
- Coordinate GSPS business continuity planning, documentation, and testing activities.
- Support periodic reviews and updates to business continuity and operational resilience plans.
- Track remediation activities resulting from continuity assessments and exercises.
- Serve as the GSPS representative in business continuity, operational resilience, and emergency response coordination meetings, ensuring procurement considerations, risks, and recovery requirements are communicated and addressed.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Management
- Build strong relationships across GSPS, Sustainability, Finance, and Enterprise Resiliency teams.
- Gather stakeholder requirements and support implementation of process, compliance, and reporting initiatives.
- Assist in translating business requirements into documented processes and operating procedures that support consistent execution across procurement teams.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Procurement, Operations, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in sourcing, procurement, procurement operations, process governance, process improvement or related areas.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Exceptional organizational skills and strong attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Experience working with cross-functional stakeholders and enterprise technology solutions.
