External Job Description
Overall Purpose: Design and implement scalable, secure, and efficient data and analytics solutions that align with supply chain business objectives, while providing technical leadership and facilitating critical decisions related to data architecture, reporting strategy, and analytics capabilities. Lead the development of standardized reporting, third-party spend analytics, Snowflake-based data solutions, and data governance frameworks that enable data-driven decision making across sourcing, supplier management, and supply chain organizations.
Key Roles and Responsibilities: Typical tasks may include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Define Data Architecture and Analytics Solutions: Define high-level data and analytics solutions with business stakeholders, technology teams, and data engineers. Determine data models, reporting frameworks, and integration requirements, evaluating technical trade-offs. Identify data sources, interfaces, and dependencies that support third-party spend visibility, supplier performance management, sourcing effectiveness, and operational reporting.
- Establish a Shared Data and Reporting Vision: Create a unified data and analytics vision across the supply chain organization, ensuring alignment of reporting, KPIs, data definitions, and governance standards. Drive consistency and transparency in data-driven decision making. Align Data and Technology Direction: Collaborate with Supply Chain, Finance, Technology, Enterprise Architects, Data Engineers, and business stakeholders to align data architecture, reporting strategies, and analytics capabilities with business priorities and enterprise standards.
- Establish Data Strategy and Technical Foundation: Develop an incremental strategy and technical foundation for supply chain analytics and reporting. Design and optimize Snowflake-based data solutions, data models, and reporting architectures that support scalable, flexible, and future-ready analytics capabilities.
- Ensure Common Practices and Reuse: Promote common data standards, reporting methodologies, governance frameworks, and analytical best practices. Facilitate the reuse of data assets, reporting solutions, and proven analytical approaches while influencing enterprise-wide reporting and data management practices.
- Drive Spend Analytics and Business Insights: Develop and enhance analytics capabilities that provide visibility into third-party spend, supplier performance, sourcing savings, benchmarking, and operational effectiveness. Deliver actionable insights and reporting solutions that support strategic sourcing decisions and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Leverage Modern Analytics Technologies: Utilize Snowflake, SQL, and business intelligence tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) to design, develop, and optimize reporting and analytics solutions. Identify opportunities to automate reporting, improve data accessibility, and accelerate insight generation across supply chain teams.

Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA) desired in Computer Science or related field. 5+ years of related experience. Certification is required in some areas.
