Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Workday Solution Architect to lead the design and implementation of robust, scalable Workday solutions. This high-profile role combines technical expertise with strategic thinking to align technology with business goals and Workday best practices. Lead MPC's end-to-end HR technology architecture-anchored in Workday to deliver a scalable, compliant, and insight-driven Hire-to-Retire ecosystem.

The ideal candidate has a strong background in Workday architecture and development, proven leadership skills, and the ability to effectively communicate complex ideas to diverse audiences.

This role will work on enterprise-scale solutions and enjoy continuous learning through advanced training, collaboration, and access to the newest Workday features and tools. The Solution Architect will play a vital role in transforming how the business operates through technology-driven customer engagement and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supports architectural governance and compliance, and contributes to defining principles, guidelines, and standards. Participates and contributes to solution architecture reviews and ensures architecture adherence.
  • Design and lead enterprise-scale solution architectures that span multiple systems or platforms, ensuring alignment with business goals, technical strategy, and enterprise architecture, within value streams.
  • Architect solutions for major modernization initiatives that deliver enhanced agility, scalability, and operational efficiency.
  • Serve as the primary lead architectural advisor for cross-functional solution delivery, collaborating with business stakeholders, Enterprise and System Architects to ensure cohesive, value-driven designs.
  • Define and enforce solution architecture standards, integration patterns, and governance practices that promote consistency, interoperability, and future-readiness across business units.
  • Mentor and develop solution and system architects and implementation teams (DevSecOps, Product teams, hybrid cloud, etc.), fostering a culture of innovation, technical excellence, and business-technology alignment.
  • Shape strategic roadmaps and business capability models, ensuring that solution designs support long-term enterprise objectives and competitive differentiation.
  • Proactively identify and mitigate solution-level risks, incorporating emerging technologies and architectural foresight to ensure resilience, compliance, and adaptability.
  • Develop frameworks and solutions for various cross functional Workday projects across the broader team. Ensuring these solutions meet requirements and are scalable and efficient.
  • Evaluate and select appropriate technologies, frameworks, and platforms.
  • Create prototypes and proofs of concept to validate solutions and inform project design.
  • Drive solutioning sessions with multiple functional area teams to arrive at a comprehensive, cohesive design.
  • Provide expert guidance and thought leadership on Workday best practices, configuration, security, integrations, and reporting capabilities.
  • Conduct reviews of Workday configurations to ensure adherence to standards and performance optimization.
  • Stay current with Workday releases, new features, and industry trends to continuously evolve our Workday strategy.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and leverage Workday functionality to drive efficiency and enhance user experience.


Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, related field, or equivalent experience required.
  • Eight (8) or more years of relevant IT experience, including five (5) or more years of relevant architecture experience required.
  • Deep understanding of Workday's architectural framework, including Business Process Framework, Security, Reporting (BIRT, Custom Reports), and Integrations (EIB, Core Connectors, Workday Studio).
  • Experience leading large-scale Workday implementations and integration activities across HR ecosystem.
  • Workday certifications in Core HCM or related modules are highly desirable.
  • Oil and Gas industry experience is a plus.
