JOB DESCRIPTION

Lead the engineering of JPMorganChase’s mission-critical Trade Execution Platform in TCIO Technology, building secure, resilient software across the full SDLC. Partner closely with stakeholders, drive cloud-native delivery, and champion enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality, speed, and operational stability in a collaborative, experimental culture.

As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within Corporate Technology - Treasury Chief Investment Office  (TCIO) Technology team, we look first and foremost for people who are passionate around solving problems through innovation and engineering practices. In this role you will apply your depth of knowledge and expertise to all aspects of the software development lifecycle. You will  partner continuously with your many stakeholders on a daily basis to stay focused on common goals. Job responsibilities

  • Develops, enhances and supports our Trade Execution Platform, which is critical to trading and other business activities.
  • Executes creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or breakdown technical problems
  • Develops secure and high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others
  • Applies knowledge of tools within the Software Development Life Cycle toolchain, including enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to improve the value realized by automation
  • Identifies opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systems
  • Drives team adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices within the work environment to improve code quality, delivery speed, and operational outcomes (e.g., AI-assisted code review/refactoring, test strategy acceleration, incident/root-cause analysis support), while establishing consistent validation standards (secure coding, peer review, automated testing) and promoting reuse of effective patterns across the team
  • Contributes to the wider team culture of opportunity, inclusion, and respect.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience
  • Strong hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
  • Advanced in one or more programming language and proficient in coding in one or more languages and frameworks such as Python, Pandas, Django, Java, Spring, SQL, MQ/Kafka
  • Hands-on experience developing applications using Cloud platforms like AWS,Kubernetes,Cloud Foundry, 
  • Experience with relational database systems such as SQL Server, Oracle , PostgreSQL
  • Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security
  • Demonstrated proficiency in software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)
  • Project execution experience with Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with non-technical colleagues to understand and address business needs
  • Demonstrated experience leading effective use of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools within the work environment (e.g., for coding, code review, test acceleration, troubleshooting) with the ability to set team expectations for validating AI outputs for correctness, performance, and security
  • Strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity considerations, secure handling of inputs/outputs, and adherence to resiliency and security expectations; experience coaching senior engineers/leads on compliant usage patterns and controls.
