Work You'll Do

As a Lead Software Engineer II on the Engineering as a Service team, you will be responsible for...
  • Break down business and technical requirements into structured tasks, prompts, and validation criteria for AI agent teams.
  • Orchestrate delivery activities across architecture, development, quality assurance, user experience, and technical documentation workflows.
  • Validate AI-generated outputs for code quality, security, compliance, and release readiness before merge or deployment.
  • Coordinate end-to-end software development lifecycle activities, including requirements, build, integration, testing, and release support.
  • Support GPS client engagements by accelerating delivery of technology modernization work in public sector environments.

Our flexible delivery models- traditional teams, pools, or pods, are tailored for each client's needs, offering engineering-led Advise, Implement, & Operate capabilities to accelerate innovation.

Qualifications

Required:
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 7+ years of experience in software engineering, software architecture, quality engineering, site reliability engineering, or DevOps
  • 2+ years of experience with generative artificial intelligence tools, prompt engineering, or AI-assisted software delivery workflows
  • Experience using integrated development environments, version control systems, and software delivery tools
  • Experience with software development life cycle activities including requirements, design, development, testing, and release
  • Experience validating technical deliverables against quality, security, or compliance requirements
  • Ability to travel 10-50%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.
Preferred:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or Computer Engineering
  • Experience supporting government technology modernization programs
  • Experience with continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines
  • Experience with test automation frameworks and release validation processes
  • Experience documenting technical requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria
  • Experience working with cross-functional delivery teams across architecture, engineering, testing, and documentation
