Job Summary

We are seeking a Lead Security Engineer specializing in Vulnerability and Threat Management to drive perimeter security and infrastructure protection initiatives. This role focuses on leading enterprise vulnerability management programs, leveraging Qualys, automation, and security analytics to strengthen the organization's security posture. You will play a key role in integrating security tools, improving detection capabilities, and delivering actionable insights to stakeholders. The position requires strong technical expertise, leadership skills, and experience in building scalable security solutions.

In this role, you will:
• Lead enterprise vulnerability management initiatives with a focus on perimeter and infrastructure security.
• Own and administer the Qualys platform, ensuring effective vulnerability scanning, assessment, and remediation tracking.
• Implement and manage network security controls and perimeter defense mechanisms.
• Develop Python-based automation solutions to streamline vulnerability management workflows and reporting.
• Integrate vulnerability data with ServiceNow VR for efficient remediation lifecycle management.
• Design and deliver Power BI dashboards to provide real-time visibility into vulnerability posture and trends.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, network, and application teams to remediate risks and strengthen security controls.
• Provide leadership in threat and vulnerability analysis, root cause investigations, and continuous improvement initiatives.

What you need to have to be considered
• 8+ years of experience in cybersecurity, including 5+ years working with vulnerability management tools such as Qualys.
• Strong expertise in Qualys platform administration and enterprise vulnerability scanning.
• Deep knowledge of network security, perimeter protection, and infrastructure security controls.
• Proficiency in Python for automation and scripting of security workflows.
• Experience with ServiceNow Vulnerability Response (VR) module integration.
• Strong Power BI skills for creating security dashboards and analytics reports.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder communication skills.
• Proven ability to lead initiatives and work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.

Salary and Other Compensation:

The annual salary for this position is between $[105,500 - 124,000] depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
