What will you do?
  • Provide delivery leadership for medium to large projects/initiatives
  • Facilitate low complexity Agile initiatives from initiation through release, providing oversight to ensure alignment with RBC/RBC Agile/Scrum practices, including but not limited to, project kick-off, sprint, release and deployment planning
  • Accountable alongside the scrum team for the achievement of release objectives and results that meet LOB stakeholders' needs and expectations
  • Track and manage risks to delivery
  • Tracking and reporting financials for the Team
  • Facilitate discussion leading to collective decision-making, goal setting and conflict resolution within the team
  • Remove impediments to delivery success through the proactive management of external dependencies and simple team problem-solving, considering options and selecting solutions; escalate issues through business and/or IT channels where necessary
  • Accountable for creating and maintaining the appropriate vehicles for open communication within the scrum team (e.g. tracker boards) to create a trusting and safe team environment
  • Manage team performance to promote joint accountability for results and solve productivity issues
  • Facilitating and engaging in business analysis, user experience and technical conversations across platforms
  • Navigating and identifying shared IT services required by the team in the delivery of its objectives
  • Serve as HR manager for a 6-8 person team of colleagues with diverse technology skillsets ranging from software engineering, quality engineering, application administration, etc.
  • Active demonstration and reinforcement of RBC/CNB's PRIDE (People, Relationships, Integrity, Dedication and Entrepreneurs) values in day-to-day activities
  • Comply fully with all Bank policies and procedures as well as all regulatory requirements
  • Complete all required training


What do you need to succeed?
Must-have:

  • Minimum 6 years of experience in one or more agile methodologies (Scrum, Lean, Kanban, XP, TDD, CI) for software development and how they can be applied in a product development / program delivery environment
  • Minimum 4 year of experience as a Scrum Master
  • Minimum 2 years proficiency with Jira or other Agile Management tools
  • Experience in project delivery with agile teams
  • Experience with agile practices including scrum/Kanban, agile ceremonies (standups, backlog refinement, team demos)
  • Experience working with vendors that provide resources using various models (staff augmentation, fixed price contracts)
  • Experience delivering small to medium complex projects with agile teams
  • Clear understanding of the various activities within a delivery project
  • Experience scheduling activities across all delivery teams to deliver a common capability
  • Strong communication skills with ability to work cross-functionally to articulate, measure and solve issues


Nice-to-have:
  • Knowledge of Scaled Agile practices
  • Knowledge of collaboration tools - JIRA and Confluence
  • Experience with Clarity, Planview and/or RBC MIS (Management Information System)
  • Basic financial experience
