LEAD REGIONAL SALES MANAGER Position SummaryThe Lead Regional Sales Manager (LRSM) is responsible for developing and executing growth strategies to increase market penetration and drive revenue growth within assigned territories. This is a high-visibility, player-coach leadership role reporting directly to the Global Director of Sales at Amphenol RF.
In addition to managing and growing their own sales territory, the LRSM provides leadership, guidance, and oversight to Regional Sales Managers within the broader region. This role serves as the primary field sales leader, helping to align regional sales efforts, drive consistent execution of company initiatives, and ensure effective account coverage and sales discipline across territories.
We are seeking a dynamic, energetic, and persuasive sales professional with a strong hunter mentality and a passion for business development. The successful candidate will focus on expanding market share through new customer acquisition, growing existing accounts, and introducing new products and solutions to the marketplace.
The ideal candidate will have proven sales experience in a manufacturing environment, along with a strong track record of working collaboratively with distributors and manufacturers' representatives. This individual must be equally effective at driving results within their own territory and leading others to achieve regional sales objectives.
Key Responsibilities- Consistently achieve or exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets within the assigned territory while contributing to broader regional performance goals.
- Maintain full ownership of a defined sales territory, including key account development, market penetration, and account expansion activities.
- Provide leadership, coaching, and guidance to Regional Sales Managers within the assigned region to support execution of sales strategies.
- Assist in aligning regional sales efforts across territories to ensure consistency in customer engagement, account strategy, and opportunity development.
- Partner with Regional Sales Managers to share best practices, support account strategies, and improve overall regional effectiveness.
- Plan and manage all sales activities within the assigned territory, including prospecting, account management, and product expansion initiatives.
- Maintain regular contact with major accounts while actively developing new customer opportunities and expanding into new market segments.
- Monitor manufacturer representative and distributor activities within the region and provide guidance to improve coverage effectiveness and sales outcomes.
- Collaborate closely with Sales Leadership to establish annual regional budgets, forecasts, and region-specific reporting.
- Manage personal sales performance and pipeline visibility through disciplined CRM utilization.
- Work closely with internal operations teams to recommend improvements related to product design, pricing structures, and company policies.
- Maintain a proactive, strategic, and highly self-directed approach to regional growth and business development.
- Support regional initiatives through effective communication, coordination, and field engagement with peer Regional Sales Managers.
- Travel extensively both locally and nationally as required.
QualificationsRequired Experience & Skills- Minimum of 3 years of manufacturing sales experience, preferably within the electronic components industry.
- Strong experience managing distributor and manufacturer representative relationships in a field sales environment.
- Demonstrated success driving sales performance across multiple territories and influencing peer sales teams.
- Proven hunter mentality with a consistent track record of new business development, customer acquisition, and territory growth.
- Strong strategic thinking skills with the ability to work independently while driving discipline, accountability, and alignment across a regional sales organization.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
Preferred Qualifications- Bachelor's degree preferred but not required.
