Job Responsibilities
  • Obtains radiologic and CT examinations as ordered by medical staff.
  • Works with patients who may be nervous, in a heightened emotional state and/or have limited mobility.
  • Maintains and performs basic maintenance on related equipment as necessary.
  • Maintains the PACS system audit, uploads CDS, and ensures all radiologic and CT examination paperwork is completed and available to radiologist.
  • Schedules clinic visits for all x-ray and CT services for all SCDC institutions statewide.
  • Updates x-ray and CT procedures and ensures compliance with IC, OSHA and DPH requirements, including quarterly submission of dosimetry monitors.
  • Presents nursing orientation as it relates to radiology workflows and procedures.
  • Supervises radiology staff and manages daily divisional operations.
  • Ensures adherence to clinical and agency protocols and procedures.
  • Develops and maintains positive working relationships with interdisciplinary managers.

State of South Carolina Minimum Requirements:
A high school diploma and experience or training within the specific work area.
SCDC Minimum Requirements:
  • A high school diploma and registration by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) after completion of approved two (2) year school of radiologic technology.
  • ARRT credentials in Computed Tomography (CT).
  • Two (2) years' experience as x-ray and CT technologist required.
  • Typing and administrative skills essential to carry out functions of X-ray and CT clinic.
