Lead Project Engineer

As an auxiliary power unit (APU) Lead Project Engineer here at Honeywell, you will coordinate and communicate with cross-functional teams, foster collaboration and ensuring effective project coordination.

You will report directly to our Sr. Program Engineering Manager, and you'll work out of our Phoenix, AZ location on a Hybrid work schedule.

In this role, you will impact the successful execution and delivery of engineering projects, driving operational excellence, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.

Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Lead and manage APU development projects from initiation to completion
  • Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders
  • Develop and implement project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation
  • Coordinate and communicate with cross-functional teams to ensure project success
  • Monitor project progress and ensure adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards
  • Ensure an airtight change management process
  • Identify and mitigate risks and issues that may impact project delivery
  • Provide technical guidance and support to project team members
  • Prepare and present project status reports to stakeholders both internal and external


Qualifications

YOU MUST HAVE
  • Bachelor's degree in aerospace or mechanical engineering
  • 8+ years of experience in project engineering or related roles
  • Proven track record of successfully delivering engineering projects on time and within budget
  • Strong leadership and project management skills with expertise in risk management and problem-solving
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail
  • Passion for innovation and continuous learning

WE VALUE
  • Master's degree in aerospace or mechanical engineering
  • Gas turbine engine development, testing and analysis experience
  • Gas turbine engine aircraft installation development, testing and analysis experience
  • Model based system engineering experience including requirements management in DOORS Next
