Job Summary

Residential Solutions is the non-regulated business of Duke Energy that sells and administers Home Protection Plans to residential customers. As the business is looking to expand and a new platform is being developed to support new business models and customers, we cannot rely solely on traditional utility channels and existing acquisition strategies. Residential Solutions must develop scalable partnerships that introduce customers to our products and services at key moments in their homeownership journey. This role is responsible for identifying, developing, and managing relationships with builders, other utility partners, home inspectors, realtors, property managers, HOAs, mortgage providers, and other affinity partners. By creating new acquisition channels and strategic referral networks, this role will expand market reach, lower customer acquisition costs, and create new pathways for customer growth while strengthening the broader Residential Solutions ecosystem.

Responsibilities
  • Identify and engage with new partner companies that will allow Residential Solutions to gain access to new markets and opportunities
  • Work with legal and other parties to develop business development contracts with identified partners that describe performance measures, operating procedures and mutual expectations
  • Develop Partner scorecards to rate performance of the partnership and hold partnerships accountable to meeting defined goals
  • Develop projects generated through partnerships. Development will include origination activities such as financial modeling, contract negotiation, stakeholder engagement, timeline management, product development
  • Develop and evaluate metrics that provide opportunities to improve lead generations and close rates by implementing initiatives to improve sales effectiveness
  • Work with product stakeholders to investigate and pilot new technologies, delivery channels and product extensions
  • Provide support and expertise to development of new products and services for customers
  • Maintain Industry awareness by evaluating opportunities
  • Develop products, programs and service enhancements to improve market effectiveness and work with Product Development on new product initiatives.
  • Set objectives, and execute or adjust strategies and plans for product development, and optimal product mix and promotion
  • Analyze and understand market research results. Set strategies and plans accordingly that create sharp focus on customer needs and wants; and appropriately allocate budget and deployment of resources
  • Develop, communicate and execute long-term/ annual product plans, market and segment plans to deliver financial results in total
  • Deliver plans within capital and O&M budget
  • Continually reviews work processes within assigned products, programs and services and takes timely action for improvement
  • Manage and modify contractual obligations with partners
  • Manage the vendor relationships like a business owner with minimal supervision for items like performance standards, quality, timeliness, tracking and reporting, invoicing, equipment operation, customer satisfaction and coordination with program stakeholders


Basic/Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business, Finance, or other related degree
  • Minimum 5 years related working experience or
  • Associate's degree and 7 years of related experience
  • In lieu of bachelor's/associates degree, a High School Diploma/GED and 9 years of related work experience.

  • Experience preparing executive presentations, business reviews, leadership meeting materials, and strategic updates
  • Experience successfully working in a team environment to achieve shared goals
  • Business operation experience


Working Conditions
  • Field - Work will be performed from both remote and onsite locations after the onboarding period. However, field employees should live within a reasonable commute to the designated Duke Energy facility.
