Full Job Description
What We're Building:

Maestro is the value creation platform designed exclusively for the Private Equity industry. Backed by S&P Global Market Intelligence and Accordion, Maestro helps PE sponsors modernize their operations and maximize value creation in private equity-backed companies through active portfolio management and increased collaboration with all stakeholders. The Maestro platform serves as an essential solution for the private equity industry - from diligence to exit.
What We're Looking For:

We are looking for a lead product designer to join our growing product team. In this role, you'll lead the design work on challenging, rewarding, and high-impact initiatives, and will be empowered to use your knowledge and experience to improve how we work. You will ensure we launch impactful features with a delightful user experience for our customers.

This role has no line management responsibilities, but as a lead individual contributor you will be expected to act as a model and mentor to other product designers in the team, helping everyone learn and grow.

From visualizing the future of our end-to-end user experience, establishing a design system, and creating wireframes and high-fidelity mock-ups, you will level-up our product design process while ensuring inclusivity and collaboration. You'll also dig into insights and uncover opportunities we didn't see before, turning those opportunities into thoughtful design solutions.

We are especially excited about designers who are curious about how AI is shaping product design and are eager to explore how AI tools can support research, ideation, prototyping, and decision-making. You keep your finger on the pulse of best-in-class design, emerging technologies, and industry trends to stay ahead of the curve and proactively improve the experience.

This position is based in New York City and is a hybrid role. Candidates will need to be local to the areas, with opportunities for remote work 3-4 days per week.
What You'll Do:
  • Lead the design work for strategic initiatives from beginning to end: research, ideation, prototyping, testing, launching, evaluating, and iterating. You'll spend the majority of your time directly on design work, from high-level user journey mapping and system design through to high-fidelity UI design.
  • Develop a deep understanding of our users motivations, goals, jobs to be done and the larger systems in which they operate. You'll organize and conduct user research and testing sessions, dig into data and previous insights, and work closely with Product Managers.
  • Collaborate and create a shared understanding across the team. You'll communicate clearly through documentation and presentations, explaining the rationale for your ideas and the trade-offs involved. You'll also get others involved by leading workshops to explore problems, generate ideas, and hear feedback.
  • Leverage modern AI-enabled design and research tools where appropriate to accelerate discovery, synthesis, and prototyping-while applying strong design judgment and user-centered thinking.
  • Contribute to how Maestro thoughtfully adopts AI in the product experience by identifying opportunities where AI can enhance usability, insights, and value for users.
  • Level up how we work. Whether through your feedback and mentorship to other designers, or through process changes and collaborating with our Head of Product, you'll strive to improve how we build a great product.
You Have:
  • 7+ years of experience designing complex digital products, especially within B2B context
  • A degree in Design (Product, Interactive, Digital, etc.), or a related field
  • Prior experience as a Product Designer in enterprise software web and mobile applications
  • Familiarity with AI-assisted design, research, or prototyping tools (e.g., generative UI exploration, AI-supported research synthesis, or prompt-driven workflows
  • Curiosity about AI-driven product experiences and a willingness to experiment and learn as the space evolves
  • Strong comfort working with data-rich or analytics-heavy products (a plus in PE/finance contexts)

Salary: $140,000 - $170,000 + benefits, bonus, and equity

Actual compensation packages are determined by evaluating a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, years and depth of experience, education, certifications, cost of labor and internal equity.
