Full Job Description
As the Lead Product Designer, you will drive the creative development of our licensed plastic and plush toys from concept to production! Ensuring alignment with market trends, safety standards, and overarching brand vision, you will generate innovative concepts and oversee the full product lifecycle. You will collaborate cross-functionally with branding, engineering, and international teams, while also serving as a key mentor to junior designers.

What You Will Do:

  • Lead the design and development of consumer products across both plastic and plush toy categories, ensuring strict brand alignment and market relevance
  • Act as the primary liaison with licensors to manage product approvals, present concept updates, and maintain strong collaborative relationships
  • Generate and refine innovative product concepts through sketches, 2D/3D renderings, and physical prototypes
  • Oversee product development timelines to ensure high-quality, cost-efficient, and timely execution of all project milestones
  • Provide clear and precise product turnover specifications and control drawings for global international teams and factory partners
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with branding, engineering, packaging, and marketing teams to ensure cohesive product execution
  • Proactively research industry trends, new materials, and manufacturing innovations across both plush and plastic toy categories
  • Mentor and guide junior designers across our various licensed plush and plastic brands to foster a collaborative, innovative, and high-performing team culture

What We Are Looking For:

  • 7+ years of experience in toy design, product development, or industrial design, with proven expertise in plastic toys and hard goods
  • Extensive knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes, and experience collaborating directly with Asia-based factories
  • Strong proficiency in generating control drawings, rendered illustrations, and technical product specifications
  • Exceptional problem-solving abilities with a proven track record of managing multiple projects and adapting to shifting priorities
  • Strong leadership, team mentorship, and project management capabilities
  • Excellent visual, verbal, and written communication skills to effectively present ideas and influence stakeholders
  • A genuine passion for character-driven product design and brand storytelling


Nice To Have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Toy Design, Industrial Design, or a related field is a plus
  • Experience with 3D modeling, sculpting, and rendering software (such as Rhino, ZBrush, or SolidWorks)

What We Offer

The salary range for this position is $98,640.00 - $121,320.00 / Yr. The base salary may vary based on experience, role tenure, performance, industry, and location. Eligibility for the annual performance incentive may apply. Jazwares is a multi-state employer, so the salary range may not apply to other states.
