Job Title: Lead Process Engineer
Reports to: VP of Engineering
Location: San Marcos, Texas

About this role
A Lead Process Engineer is responsible for the process development and optimization of sintered magnet production processes as well as the professional development of the process engineering group. Responsibilities include the commissioning of process equipment, ramp-up to production volumes, daily yield sustenance and troubleshooting, process documentation, and training of technicians, operators, and early career process engineers.

What You'll Be Doing:
• New product introduction to manufacturing - working closely with engineering technology, production, and quality engineering teams to release new equipment to
production. This includes installation, commissioning and qualification, processing material through the line and optimizing recipes for each critical process. Hands-on
experience on the production floor is essential.
• Daily line sustenance - Primarily responsible for tracking and reporting data in production, sustaining the line, maintaining yield, troubleshooting, and resolving
production issues working with maintenance and quality teams.
• Primarily responsible for originating and maintaining all production related documents including process specifications, design rules, SOPs, WI, ECNs.
• Training technicians, operators, and engineers as required.
• Conducting research to develop new and improved processes for manufacturing.
• Evaluating processes and equipment to ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulations.

We are looking for someone who:
• Has a strong process engineering background preferably in the powder metallurgy manufacturing industry, or alternatively in a closely related metallurgical or chemical
process industry.
• Possesses knowledge in developing P&ID for industrial processes involving pressure vessels, vacuum equipment, heat exchangers, and other processes that involve
measurement and control of gas, fluid, and material streams.
• Can specify sensors, instrumentation and controls required for the process.
• Has expertise in process optimization using DOE's, and in structured problem-solving techniques. Strong background in statistical methods and control charts.
• Knowledge and experience in jet milling, pressing of metal powders, vacuum sintering and annealing.
• Is able to manipulate data using excel or other software to extract meaningful information from data.
• Possesses a good work ethic and attitude. Willing to learn new skills. Ability to work efficiently in a matrix organization and startup environment.
• Can deliver results with minimum supervision.
• Has sound process engineering principles and is able to teach them.
• Has ability in process simulation software.
• Can determine the most effective uses of engineering resources to support production in all capacities.

Physical Requirements:
• Able to move up to 50lbs.
• Possesses manual dexterity to put parts or pieces together quickly and accurately.
• Can wear PPE.
• Comfortable standing for long periods of time, up to and exceeding 60 minutes.
• Is capable of making repetitive movements including, but not limited to, sitting, squatting
and walking up and down stairs.
