Responsibilities for this Position
As a Lead Principal Engineer for the Torpedo Systems Group MK48 program, you will lead overall system architecture, ensure requirement adherence, and identify future opportunities on Torpedo Programs.
What you will be doing:
- Hardware system design: Architect and optimize systems with digital, analog, and mechanical components for DC/AC and DC/DC applications.
- Design and development expertise: Lead and mentor circuit design, integration, verification, modeling, and simulation while ensuring efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Project leadership: Manage high-risk projects, communicate risks and mitigation strategies, and ensure quality and timeliness in operations.
- Problem-solving and analysis: Conduct root cause analysis for both new and existing products and drive technical improvements.
- Technical collaboration: Participate in design reviews, trade studies, and proposals while staying current on semiconductor processors, SoCs, and FPGA architectures.
What you bring to the table:
- Expertise in electronics and microprocessor systems: Experience with Gigahertz microprocessors, FPGA, CPLD, memory technologies, and high-speed serial links (e.g., 5+ Gbps).
- Circuit design and testing proficiency: Strong knowledge of digital, analog, and power electronic circuits, plus hands-on experience with test equipment like scopes, power sources, and probes.
- Technical tools and software knowledge: Familiarity with tools like Mentor Graphics, OrCAD PSPICE, LT Spice, Mathcad, Microsoft Office, and Visio.
- Teamwork and project leadership: Ability to collaborate on multiple projects, apply leadership principles (e.g., Earned Value, CAM), and communicate results effectively.
- Mechanical-electronics integration: Experience designing and testing complex electronics assemblies within mechanical systems.
