This Opportunity

WSP USA is seeking a Lead New Mobility Consultant for our New York, NY or San Francisco, CA office!
Your Impact
  • Lead planning, design, and implementation of new mobility solutions or technologies including but not limited to on-demand transportation, microtransit, paratransit, alternative-fuels, automated vehicles, and digital solutions.
  • Guide/mentor junior staff to perform professional transportation planning, design, and implementation work to further inform a particular problem or issue, verify site characteristics, and/or to plan for future needs affecting new mobility, public-private partnerships, and multimodal planning.
  • Under minimal supervision, lead client meetings, stakeholder and industry engagements, and other business development initiatives.
  • Collect, identify, and compile observational, spatial, or operations data from multiple matrices for projects, research, and surveys.
  • Maintain quality control standards and procedures for accurate and precise measurements, demographics, patterns and trends, statistical analysis, and reporting.
  • Prepare data and visualizations such as tables, charts, accurate reports, models, infographics, and 3D illustrations for the interpretation or presentation of data, findings, or analyses.
  • Generate complete, accurate, and concise documentation of technical memos, meeting minutes, transmittals, presentations, and other written materials.
  • Utilize the latest technologies and techniques in performing studies and analysis of project areas, sites, and any associated physical, urban, economic, population, community, and political sensitivities.
  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.
Who You Are

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Transportation Planning or Engineering or a related field, and 7+ years of experience related to the degree of study and the specific discipline.
  • Demonstrated familiarity with new mobility, microtransit, paratransit, shared mobility, alternative-fuel technologies, connected and automated vehicles.
  • Analytical skills, and familiarity with research techniques, local/regional geography, transportation networks, systems, and modalities.
  • Capable interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others, expressing ideas effectively and professionally to a technical and non-technical audience.
  • Capable self-leadership with attention to detail, multi-tasking, and prioritization of responsibilities in a dynamic work environment.
  • Ability to work independently under general supervision, as well as part of a team to meet business objectives.
  • Familiarity with discipline-specific software (i.e., Python, ArcGIS, Adobe Creative Suite).
  • Basic proficiency with business writing, office automation and communication software, technology, and tools.
  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP's health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
  • Ability to work schedules conducive to project-specific requirements that may extend beyond the typical workweek.
  • Occasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's Degree in Transportation Planning or Engineering, or a related field
  • A member of and/or actively participates in local professional practice organizations.

Compensation
Expected Salary (all locations): $122,000 - $208,000

WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and offer for this position, based on the successful applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location. WSP USA reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant's sex or other status protected by local, state, and/or federal law.
