Job Description:Overview:We are looking for a talented
Lead, Mechanical Engineer to join our facilities engineering team in our Decatur, TX graphite production facility. You will be responsible for designing, improving, installing, and increasing the reliability of new and existing bulk handling equipment such as blenders, mixers, conveyors, dust collectors as well as heat and mass transfer equipment such as environmental scrubbers, gas and electric-fired furnaces, CVD reactors, and cooling towers. In this role, you will: - Design, commission and qualify production lines with bulk processing equipment and heat and mass transfer equipment that converts petroleum coke into premium graphite;
- Develop metrics by equipment and conduct root cause analysis to improve reliability of existing and new production equipment;
- Partner with internal and external engineering and analytical teams to design and install production equipment and plant systems;
- Analyze capacity and justify capacity additions based on future business levels;
- Troubleshoot equipment issues using the 8D Problem Solving methodology and lean techniques.
Traits we believe make a strong candidate: - B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related field) plus 15 years relevant experience; or a M.S. degree and 10 years of experience preferred.
- Experience in designing and installing bulk processing equipment and plant infrastructure equipment
- Experience using lean methodologies to conduct root cause analysis and improving reliability of equipment
- Strong communication ability and experience collaborating with cross-functional teams with outstanding verbal and written communication skills
- Experience in 2D and 3D CAD systems such as DraftSight and SolidWorks, etc.
Your success will be measured by: - Ability to work on multiple projects and complete them on time and within budget, while coordinating with cross functional teams.
- Improvement in the reliability of current and new equipment that are used for bulk manufacturing and post-production
- Ability to work independently but also mentor junior employees

- Compensation: $119,500- $149,000 per year range with actual pay dependent on candidate overall skills for the role
