Compensation

At S&C, we are dedicated to providing competitive and equitable compensation for all our team members, and we are committed to transparency in our pay practices. The estimated annual base salary range for this position is $85,954 - $113,895. Individual pay within this salary range is determined by several compensable factors, including performance, knowledge, job-related skills and experience, and relevant education or training. This role is also eligible for S&C's annual incentive plan (AIP), subject to eligibility criteria.

The Lead Maintenance Technologist is a leadership-focused technical role responsible for driving maintenance excellence through mentoring, project execution, and reliability improvement initiatives. This position plays a key role in developing team capability and improving equipment performance across the operation.

Responsibilities:
  • Leadership & Mentoring:
  • Mentor and develop maintenance technicians across all levels
  • Provide technical leadership during complex failures
  • Support structured training and skills development programs
  • Projects & Continuous Improvement:
  • Lead capital equipment installations, upgrades, and commissioning
  • Drive downtime reduction and reliability improvement initiatives
  • Partner with Engineering, Production, and Quality on projects
  • Standardize maintenance procedures and best practices
  • Technical Oversight:
  • Support high-level troubleshooting of recurring or critical issues
  • Validate root cause analysis and corrective actions
  • Drive effective use of CMMS and maintenance data
  • Support predictive maintenance and reliability strategies
  • Core Skills:
  • Leadership and coaching capability
  • Advanced technical knowledge across all maintenance disciplines
  • Strong project management and coordination skills
  • Reliability-focused mindset (MTBF, downtime reduction)
  • Strong communication and cross-functional influence
  • Equipment Supported:
  • Advanced CNC systems and machining centers
  • Fully integrated robotic production cells
  • Automated paint, plating, and process systems
  • Complex PLC-controlled production lines and safety systems
  • New installations, upgraded systems, and integrated production lines

What you'll Need To Succeed:
  • 7-10+ years of industrial maintenance experience
  • Proven leadership and mentoring experience
  • Experience leading projects or equipment installations
  • Strong technical and communication skills
  • Technical degree or certification
  • Reliability or continuous improvement experience
  • Lean / Six Sigma exposure


Major Physical Demands:
  • Standing Remaining in an upright position 75% of the time with intermittent walking and sitting.
  • Lifting Frequent lifting of components ranging from 5 lbs. to 50 lbs.
  • Walking Frequent walking short distances from job to job throughout the plant.
  • Carrying Occasional carrying of equipment components or tools weighing up to 20 lbs.
  • Pushing Occasional use of hand truck, parts cart, to move portable equipment a moderate distance.
  • Pulling Occasional use of hand truck, parts cart, to move portable equipment a moderate distance.
  • Bending Frequent bending required to perform job tasks.
  • Reaching Frequent reaching to install and remove parts or assemblies from equipment.
  • Handling Continuous handling of small hand tools, power tools and equipment
