Role: Lead Java Developer Location: Falls Church, VA 22042 Position: 1 Role Overview: We are seeking an experienced Lead Java Developer with 8+ years of Java development experience to support Correspondence Redesign releases and Change Requests. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Java, J2EE, SQL, unit testing, accessibility testing, and Azure DevOps, along with the ability to provide technical leadership and support application delivery activities. Key Responsibilities: • Lead Java development activities supporting Correspondence Redesign releases and Change Requests • Design, develop, enhance, and maintain enterprise Java applications • Analyze business and technical requirements and translate them into scalable technical solutions • Develop and maintain application components using Java and J2EE technologies • Design and optimize SQL queries and database interactions • Develop and execute comprehensive unit tests to ensure application quality • Perform accessibility testing and address application accessibility requirements • Troubleshoot application issues and perform root cause analysis • Support release planning, deployment, validation, and production support activities • Manage and track development activities using Azure DevOps • Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to development standards • Collaborate with business analysts, QA teams, architects, and project stakeholders • Provide technical guidance and mentoring to development team members • Support Change Requests and ensure timely delivery of enhancements and fixes Required Skills: • 8+ years of professional Java development experience • Strong experience with Java and J2EE technologies • Strong SQL development and database experience • Hands on experience with unit testing • Experience with accessibility testing and accessibility compliance • Experience supporting enterprise application development and maintenance • Experience with Azure DevOps for source control, work tracking, and development lifecycle activities • Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills • Experience supporting application releases and change requests • Strong communication, analytical, and problem solving skills • Ability to work effectively with technical and business stakeholders Preferred Skills: • Experience leading Java development teams or technical initiatives • Experience supporting large scale enterprise or government applications • Experience with application modernization and redesign initiatives • Experience with Agile development methodologies • Experience with automated testing practices • Experience with release management and production support • Experience preparing technical documentation and development standards • Experience mentoring junior and mid level developers Education Requirement: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
