Full Job Description
Who are we hiring?
The Lead Investigator is a key member of MSG's Investigations & Security Operations team, responsible for investigating and mitigating internal and external threats involving fraud, misconduct, theft, corruption, and policy violations. The role conducts interviews, analyzes evidence, prepares actionable reports for senior leadership, and partners with internal stakeholders and law enforcement. The Lead Investigator also supports executive protection operations, including protective advances and close-protection assignments. The ideal candidate brings extensive investigative experience, sound judgment, discretion, and the ability to independently manage sensitive matters.

What will you do?
  • Lead investigations and work in close collaboration with other teams and departments within MSG.
  • Investigate internal/external fraud and corruption related activities to include, but not limited to: Embezzlement, check, and credit card frauds; identity thefts; bribery; procurement fraud; as well as construction related waste, fraud, and abuse.
  • Conduct victim, witness, and subject interviews; collect, review, and analyze documents, records, electronic communications, and other data; conduct research and background checks of individuals, corporations and other entities and identifiers.
  • Based upon investigative findings, research, and intelligence, provide recommendations, and assist in the implementation of policies and programs designed to reduce fraud within the company.
  • Work with local, state, and federal authorities on matters related to fraud, corruption and other illegal activities and coordinate investigations as appropriate.
  • Perform executive protection duties, including protective advances, close-protection assignments, secure transportation coordination, and other protective operations supporting Company executives and designated individuals.
  • Maintain knowledge of emerging threats, risks and issues related to fraudulent and corruption related schemes and activities.
  • Ability to conduct counter surveillance activities in the vicinity of the client site and lead efforts around covert protective measures.
  • Perform other general security duties as needed to support MSG Threat Management.
  • Provide exceptional experiences for our guests, partners, and team members, including by adhering to our appearance and presentation guidelines while on-site.


What do you need to succeed?
  • 5+ years of related experience
  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • A minimum of 4 years corporate, law enforcement, or government security/intelligence experience involving fieldwork; and three years of public or private sector experience conducting or supporting intelligence collection, analysis, and dissemination functions.
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to conduct briefings that present clear, concise, logic-based conclusions to support and inform the executive decision-making process.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform comprehensive research and analysis using multiple unclassified sources and synthesize data into information relevant to consumers.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, both as in individual and in a team setting, and help implement new ideas
  • Strict confidentiality, professionalism, dependability, and situational sensitivity is essential.
  • Must be a strategic, analytical thinker and operator capable of monitoring and reporting on regional threats to safety or operations.
  • Proficient in online and social media searches, use of e-discovery and other analytical tools, and case management systems.
  • LEOSA / HR-218 preferred.


Special Requirements:
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule in support of a 24/7 security environment, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and nontraditional work hours as operational requirements dictate.
  • Ability to respond to security incidents and investigative matters at MSG venues, offices, and other Company locations.
  • Ability to support executive protection and other protective security operations when required.
  • Ability and willingness to travel domestically or internationally, including with limited advance notice.
  • Ability to support major events and other high-profile MSG operations as required.

Pay Range

$83,000-$155,000 USD
