Project Overview:

Louisiana LNG is located approximately 11 miles southwest of Lake Charles, Louisiana. The project includes a mid-scale, mixed-refrigerant Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) production and export facility on the west side of the Calcasieu River. There are five identical process plants. Each process plant consists of one gas pre-treatment unit, one condensate stabilization unit, and four Chart heavy hydrocarbon (HHC) removal and liquefaction groups. The facility will include associated utilities, refrigerant storage, three 235,000m3 full-containment LNG storage tanks, and three marine berths.

Job Summary:

In this role, you will manage a team and provide field engineering leadership for work planning and packaging, material management, quantity validation, safety and quality control, technical inspection and testing knowledge, and coordination of system turnover and subcontracts. Your oversight will ensure field engineering activities operate safely, are complete, and conform to quality standards and project requirements. #LI-BH1

Major Responsibilities:

  • On a medium sized job, performs the duties of a lead engineer in either an area, coordinating and directing a variety of disciplines, or as a Deputy Project Field Engineer, coordinating all activities related to the operation of assigned operating section

Leadership/Supervision
  • Proactively engages with their teams' development through CPM, competency development/assessment and feedback
  • Supervises a broad range of construction engineering work within a specific engineering discipline.

Work Planning & Packaging
  • Coordinates with design on constructability issues.

Material Management
  • Directs the preparation of requisitions for field procured materials, material substitution, services, and equipment.

Quantities
  • Possesses responsibility for quantity take-off, control, reporting and forecasting.

Safety / Quality Control
  • Ensures zero accident philosophy and requirements are implemented and adhered to by craft and others when in the operational area, and tools and equipment are in safe condition and operated safely.

System Turnover Coordinator

For Direct Hire:
  • Possesses responsibility for coordinating between construction and startup to ensure the various system walkdowns are performed, interfacing with the startup specialist as required to support component/system turnover and assuming responsibility (as required) for area turnover coordination as determined by the PFE.

STR / Subcontract Coordinator
  • Reviews and approves inspection test plans
  • Supervises reviews of subcontractor submittals


Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Required bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 8 -10 years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience


Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Experience in construction and technical inspection of electrical/design in areas such as installation and testing of electrical systems, lighting systems, high voltage equipment, classified area rated equipment, grounding, DCS systems and cable pulling activities.
  • Experience with installing gas insulated switchgear (medium and high voltage) Demonstrated commitment to Environment, Safety and Health (ES&H).
  • Demonstrated commitment to a Zero Accident safety program.
  • Must be computer-literate in word processing, spreadsheet and database applications.
  • Must be familiar with current industry quality standards.
  • Basic ability to utilize the TeamWorks suite and SetRoute application as the Bechtel Standard Application Programs (BSAPs).
  • Basic knowledge of Project Technical Requests (PTR) for routing and resolving Requests for Information (RFIs), Field Change Documents (FCDs), and Non Conformance/Compliance Reports (NCRs) between project sites, contractors, clients, and home office.
  • Basic knowledge of work packaging and basic ability to manipulate completions module and PunchWorks for interface with the start-up team.
  • Familiarity with STCP's and CSU work processes. Intermediate understanding of production management including scheduling.
  • Intermediate communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
  • Intermediate knowledge of cost management including estimating and forecast development.
  • Previous supervisory experience within electrical discipline.


Additional Information: Work requires the physical ability to conduct field inspections including but not limited to: extensive walking in and around a construction site often in high heat and high humidity conditions, climbing ladders, climbing scaffolding, working on elevated platforms, working on uneven surfaces, and working in small or confined spaces. Some lifting may be required. Must have the ability to walk into and out of the project (enter/egress). Must be able to use appropriate standard issued Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) required for each assigned task (i.e. harness, life vest, lift buckets, etc.).
