As a Lead Infrastructure Engineer at JPMorganChase within the Global Network Services Operations team, you will serve as a senior technical subject matter expert responsible for the reliability, resilience, and continuous improvement of mission-critical network infrastructure across our global environment. You will be a key escalation point for complex incidents, a trusted advisor to customers and stakeholders, and a collaborative force driving operational excellence across a high-performing team. Your work will directly influence the firm's technology strategy and infrastructure evolution, with visibility at the most senior levels of the organization.

Job responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day incident and problem management for major-impact network and data infrastructure issues across the global environment, driving timely resolution and minimizing business disruption
• Serve as a senior technical subject matter expert across two or more core network technology domains, providing advanced troubleshooting, escalation support, and operational guidance
• Manage technical bridge calls, coordinate with engineering and platform teams on bug fixes, design changes, and code upgrades, and ensure clear communication throughout the incident lifecycle
• Act as the primary interface for customers and stakeholders on operational issues, service-impacting events, and infrastructure concerns, advocating for timely resolution and transparent communication
• Coach and mentor junior and mid-level engineers, building technical capability, operational discipline, and troubleshooting skills across the team
• Contribute to team leadership responsibilities including workload coordination, knowledge sharing, service improvement initiatives, and input into talent evaluation and performance processes
• Plan, track, and manage technology infrastructure utilization to optimize service delivery, operational resilience, and cost efficiency
• Create and maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, knowledge articles, and support materials to enable team effectiveness and institutional knowledge
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams across the firm to resolve complex issues, improve service reliability, and deliver shared technology goals
• Communicate complex technical findings clearly and concisely to management, stakeholders, and cross-functional partners at all levels of the organization

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

• Formal training or certification on infrastructure engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience
• Deep knowledge of enterprise network services, infrastructure domains, and service interdependencies within a large-scale global environment
• Proven hands-on experience across multiple network infrastructure areas including routing and switching, LAN/WAN, data center networking, wireless, network security, load balancing, proxy, and optical transport technologies
• Strong experience supporting mission-critical production network environments including incident management, problem management, change execution, monitoring, capacity management, and infrastructure lifecycle support
• Experience with enterprise network platforms such as Cisco ASR/GSR/Nexus, VXLAN, Cisco ACI, Arista Fabric, Fortinet, Check Point, F5 LTM/GTM/ASM, or equivalent technologies
• Strong experience with protocol analysis and packet-capture tools such as Wireshark, cPacket, or equivalent
• Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Splunk, SevOne, ThousandEyes, or equivalent platforms
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical issues to both technical and non-technical audiences
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a customer-focused, mission-critical, 24x7 operational environment with multiple vendor, customer, and stakeholder relationships

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

• Expert-level knowledge of multicast, low-latency networking, and market data-related technologies
• Experience with scripting and automation tools such as Python, Ansible, or similar technologies
• Familiarity with version control practices and tools within an infrastructure engineering context
• Experience working in Linux environments within a large-scale enterprise or financial services organization
• Working knowledge of technology risk, controls, and compliance expectations within a regulated industry environment
