The Lead House Supervisor at Missouri Baptist Medical Center is a nursing leadership role responsible for leading the Float Pool team and supporting safe staffing, patient throughput, and operational excellence across the hospital. This position oversees approximately 25-40 Float Pool Registered Nurses (RNs) and Patient Care Technicians and is accountable for caregiver development, team engagement, performance management, and operational effectiveness. The Lead House Supervisor partners with nursing and operational leaders to support workforce planning, staffing coordination, and patient flow initiatives that help ensure exceptional care and an outstanding experience for both patients and caregivers. The primary schedule is days with flexibility to connect with team members across shifts. This full-time exempt position also includes periodic House Supervisor and bed management coverage, providing valuable experience in hospital operations and patient flow management. Required Qualifications

• Current RN licensure
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• 2+ years of progressive leadership experience in an acute care setting
• Experience as a Charge Nurse, Team Lead, House Supervisor, Assistant Nurse Manager, or similar leadership role
• Strong communication, collaboration, and operational leadership skills

The Nursing Office at Missouri Baptist Medical Center supports the scheduling and placement of central staffing resources throughout the hospital. Additionally, the Nursing Office team provides guidance and communication to all nursing and ancillary staff as directed by senior nursing leadership.

Role Purpose

Supports the Clinical Manager in the delivery of safe, appropriate, age specific, cost effective patient care, as well as oversees the activities of the House Supervisors. Manages the coordination of patient placement and bed management in collaboration with emergency department, admitting, and physicians. Oversees the direction of the allocation of staffing activities, within the patient care areas, and works with the House Supervisors to handle unusual circumstances, to appropriate resources and to investigate/resolve clinical problems/complaints.

Responsibilities

Manages individual(s) including but not limited to: hires, trains, assigns work, manages & evaluates performance, conducts professional development plans. Ensures that the productivity and actions of that group meet/support the overall operational goals of the department as established by department leadership.

May participate in the development of departmental staffing, revenue and/or expense budgets and having direct responsibility for adhering to those goals. This includes responding to changes in the business which may affect the ability to achieve the budget goals.

Directs operations of House Supervisor services within the organization and integrates services throughout the organization and system.

Manages House Supervisors as they assist with patient care operations and integration of services between departments.

Oversees the direction given by House Supervisors as they supervise the delivery of safe and appropriate patient care governed by a solid clinical and management knowledge base.

Builds effective services through hiring, supervising and evaluating House Supervisor staff.
