Lead Facilities Engineer - JLL

What this job involves:

The Lead Facilities Engineer is responsible for overseeing the operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of building systems and infrastructure at JLL. This role provides technical leadership to the facilities team, ensures system reliability, and supports safe, efficient, and compliant facility operations. As a key point of coordination between maintenance, operations, contractors, and leadership, you will play a critical role in delivering exceptional facility performance that supports JLL's business objectives and enhances client satisfaction.

What your day-to-day will look like:
  • Lead day-to-day facilities engineering and maintenance activities across building systems including Facilities, HVAC, refrigeration, and utilities
  • Provide technical guidance and oversight to maintenance technicians and contractors
  • Support troubleshooting and root cause analysis of equipment and system failures
  • Plan and coordinate facility shutdowns, outages, and system upgrades
  • Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements
  • Oversee vendor relationships, contracts, and service performance
  • Assist in capital planning, budgeting, and execution of facility improvement projects
Required Qualifications:
  • 5-10+ years of experience in facilities engineering, maintenance, or building operations
  • Strong working knowledge of HVAC systems, electrical distribution, and building infrastructure
  • Experience with CMMS and building automation systems
  • Demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and work in mechanical spaces


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in industrial, manufacturing, or large commercial facilities
  • Knowledge of energy management and reliability-centered maintenance practices
  • Experience developing and maintaining SOPs, maintenance procedures, and documentation
  • Background supporting energy efficiency and sustainability initiatives
  • Proven ability to coordinate with cross-functional teams to minimize operational disruptions
