Key Responsibilities
• Evaluate work requests, develop test strategies, execute testing to meet customer requirements, and ensure laboratory regulatory and quality compliance
• Serve as a focal point for LIMS services and perform laboratory testing across several disciplines, primarily metallography, but may include hardness testing, mechanical testing; and expand to fluid analysis and chemistry
• Diagnose and resolve equipment issues; perform advanced troubleshooting and maintenance on laboratory instruments.
• Partner with lab engineers to develop and implement new test methods, fixturing, and procedures; act as process owner for assigned methods and maintain associated documentation
• Build strong working relationships with internal teams, customers, and suppliers to ensure smooth execution of standard and non-standard work
• Maintain laboratory 5S in assigned areas, including maintaining consumable inventory
• Maintain strict adherence to safety practices and compliance requirements within OSHA-regulated laboratory environments.

Qualifications

You Must Have
• High school diploma or GED.
• Minimum 7 years of direct/hands-on experience in an engineering test laboratory or material test laboratory.
• Demonstrated ability to develop laboratory procedures, processes, and training materials for technical staff.
• Demonstrated ability to train other technicians
• Strong time management and communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across multiple teams and customer groups.

We Value
• Associate or bachelor's degree in electronics, electro-mechanical, materials science, engineering, or related field.
• Experience in aerospace or high-reliability materials engineering laboratories or manufacturing environments.
• Familiarity with Nadcap AC7101, AC7108, and AS9100 quality standards, compliance requirements, or SCA certification.
• Experience with metallographic techniques and microstructure evaluations
• Understanding of root cause and corrective action (RCCA) methodologies.
• Knowledge of materials testing equipment, laboratory safety practices, and quality management systems.
• Strong attention to detail and advanced problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specification requirements.
• Experience with digital macro photography, microscopy, and metallographic imaging equipment (e.g., Keyence).
• Familiarity with laboratory auditing practices and quality assurance principles.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Microsoft 365 tools (Teams, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).

The annual base salary range for this position is $73,000 - $91,500. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline.
