The MD&A Parts Division is currently seeking a detail-oriented and innovative Lead Engineer to join our dynamic team at our Clifton Park, NY facility This role offers an exciting opportunity to work at the forefront of power generation technology, contributing to the design, analysis, and continuous improvement of our products. Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct reverse engineering of power generation components, manage and analyze collected data, and leverage insights to support continuous improvement and business growth.
  • Utilize and develop proficiency in all reverse engineering tools, equipment, and associated software to ensure accurate analysis and documentation.
  • Use 3D Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools to create manufacturing models and detailed drawings for product development and manufacturing processes.
  • Review and disposition supplier and MD&A manufacturing deviation requests both prior to and during the manufacturing process to ensure quality and compliance.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives and facilitate status update meetings to promote cross-organizational collaboration and project alignment.
  • Support the development and field validation of new products and processes, ensuring they meet performance and quality standards.
  • Actively contribute to cultivating a positive, innovative, and collaborative work environment that encourages continuous learning and improvement.
  • Travel up to 10% to MD&A Parts shops located in Ohio and Saint Louis as well as to power plant sites domestically and internationally as needed.


Requirements

Relevant Experience: A minimum of 5 years of design, manufacturing, and project management experience in power generation or an industrial industry involving turbine product service and parts.

Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication (English), positive attitude, strong work ethic, ability to work independently and across various functional areas with little guidance and apply both technical and project management experience to identify, analyze and resolve problems in a timely manner.

Knowledge: Process knowledge in power industry designs; detailed knowledge and proficiency in engineering design, reverse engineering and drafting practices, material analysis; CAD capability desirable.

Experience in the following software programs preferred:

- Autodesk Inventor

- Siemens NX

- Polyworks

- Geomagic Design X

Physical Demands: Exposure to industrial power plant sites, repair shops and office environments; Ability to travel to various shops within MD&A and to field locations both domestically and internationally as needed.
