Full Job Description
Lead and support technology development and execution for R&D projects related to firmware and software development and integration for AC and DC systems. Develop innovative energy management and grid integration solutions. Support implementing state-of-the-art concepts and solutions into quick prototypes, feasibility studies, specifications, and eventually into larger systems and product components. Investigate, integrate, and validate new product designs abiding by time-based milestones. Serve as a technical contributor and/or lead in technology development and demonstration. Serve as an individual contributor and subject matter expert in government and non-government proposal development and/or project execution. Engage multiple business stakeholders, cross-functional teams, National labs, Universities, and Utility Customers. Innovate, invent, and challenge state-of-the-art design and process by securing critical intellectual properties through patents and publications in reputable peer-reviewed journals. Contribute to the development of strategies for technology roadmaps for specific applications that are linked to and supportive of the overall ERL and business strategies. Serve as a subject matter expert externally and internally. This includes leadership/active participation in external industry and technical groups, mentoring junior level staff and consulting internal business and engineering partners. Position is fixed location based in Lakewood, CO office; however, telecommuting from a home office may also be allowed. Qualifications: Requires a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, or a directly related field plus five (5) years of Industrial or entrepreneurial experience. Experience must include: Three (3) years of experience in the following (experience may be gained concurrently): • Software and firmware development and testing. • One (1) or more of the following programming languages: C+, C++, Python, JavaScript, MATLAB/Simulink. One (1) year of experience in the following (experience may be gained concurrently): • One (1) or more of the following embedded systems: Beagle Bone Black, Raspberry PI, Arduino, STM32. • Linux (Yocto) and RTOS environment. • Communication protocols, including MODBUS, ISO15118, IEEE2030.5, or BACnet. Will also accept a Master's degree (or foreign equivalent) plus three (3) years of industrial or entrepreneurial experience. All positions may require participation in video and in-person interviews as part of the hiring process.
