Job Summary
We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design, develop, test, debug, configure, and support business solutions for the insurance industry. The ideal candidate will have strong software engineering experience, technical design skills, problem-solving abilities, and experience working across development, business, QA, project management, and third-party teams.
Key Responsibilities
• Design, develop, test, debug, configure, and document software applications according to business and technical specifications.
• Ensure requirements are complete, consistent, comprehensible, feasible, and unambiguous.
• Collaborate effectively with Business Analysts, Project Managers, QA teams, and other technical teams.
• Establish strong working relationships across teams, negotiate priorities, and resolve conflicts when necessary.
• Communicate complex or sensitive technical information effectively to business and technical stakeholders.
• Provide input to Development Managers regarding project plans, estimates, schedules, and technical approaches.
• Create and deliver informative, well-organized technical presentations.
• Communicate effectively with third parties, including data providers and software vendors.
• Produce comprehensive technical documentation.
• Perform impact analysis and design systems using established methodologies and engineering best practices.
• Design scalable, maintainable, and efficient solutions that are practical to implement and support.
• Analyze business requirements and technical issues and recommend optimal solutions considering time and resource constraints.
• Proactively identify and resolve quality issues to minimize application defects.
• Research, coordinate, and track technical problems through resolution.
• Identify critical issues and determine appropriate corrective actions.
• Apply knowledge of emerging industry practices to solve complex business and technical problems.
• Identify opportunities to improve internal processes and recommend practical solutions.
• Identify production performance issues and implement solutions to improve application performance and reliability.
• Develop solutions that improve system performance, scalability, and maintainability.
Required Qualifications
• Minimum 5 years of Software Engineering-related experience.
• Experience designing, developing, testing, and implementing enterprise applications.
• Experience with Java/J2EE v8 and related enterprise development environments.
• Experience with Angular v11+, TypeScript, JavaScript, CSS, Bootstrap, and PrimeNG.
• Experience with Spring MVC, REST, JMS, and JBOSS.
• Experience with ESB technologies such as Mule.
• Experience working with JSON, XML, XSLT, SOAP, Maven, and MyBatis.
• Strong SQL experience with DB2 and Microsoft SQL Server.
• Strong understanding of software development methodologies, application architecture, testing, and production support.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively across business, technical, QA, project management, and vendor teams.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with AWS services such as Lambda and S3.
• Experience developing and deploying applications on AWS.
• Experience in the insurance industry.
• Knowledge of application performance optimization and scalability best practices.
