About the Role
Northern Trust’s Global Sales Organization is seeking a Lead Engagement Associate to join our Wealth Management client acquisition team, which is tasked with actively conducting outreach to potential sales leads generated from marketing efforts and a variety of databases and digital tools. This role serves as a first point of sales engagement, initiating outreach and preparing sales leads for a warm handoff to front-line sales teams. The Lead Engagement Associate will work closely with sales enablement, marketing and front-line sales teams to maintain and advance a pipeline of high-quality leads.
Key Responsibilities
Prioritization & Outreach: Organize, prioritize and conduct outreach via phone calls, emails and other channels as appropriate. Execute a structured cadence of outreach, follow-up and qualification activities.
Lead Qualification & Conversion Support: Assess fit, needs, timeline and readiness of leads, and communicate information to front-line sales teams. Conduct warm handoff to front-line sales.
CRM Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in Salesforce, ensuring data integrity and actionable insights.
Campaign Support: Collaborate with marketing teams to execute lead nurturing campaigns using tools like Marketo.
Additional Responsibilities
Lead Identification: Utilize digital tools and platforms to identify potential leads or prospects within target markets.
Lead Qualification: Assess and score leads based on predefined criteria to ensure alignment with business objectives.
Reporting & Analytics: Track lead performance metrics and provide insights to optimize conversion strategies.
Sales Support: Additional responsibilities in support of Wealth Management sales efforts may include conducting and providing research on leads and prospects and/or writing responses to Requests for Proposal (RFPs) for wealth and investment management services.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Business, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience)
2–3 years of experience in sales, sales support, prospecting and/or wealth management, with interest in a sales or sales support environment in financial services
Ability to build rapport through proactive outreach
Persistent follow‑up discipline
Strong consultative communication skills, attention to detail and organizational skills
Experience and ability working in a dynamic team environment supporting sales professionals

Salary Range:
$74,200 - 126,200 USD
Salary range is a good faith estimate of base pay. Northern Trust provides a comprehensive benefits package including retirement benefits (401k and pension), health and welfare benefits (medical, dental, vision, spending accounts and disability), paid time off, parental and caregiver leave, life & accident insurance, and other voluntary and well-being benefits. Northern Trust also provides a discretionary bonus program that may include an equity component.
